Knights Launch New Jerseys *Pictures*

one thing is for sure, the roosters have a lot of jerseys this yr. My bet is that it is the red stripped one, foundation should be the first jersey they had back in the 1908 season

I am just $30 dollars and a trip to Charlestown away from owning one. ;) Got $50 for my birthday from both my nan and Dad, and will be added to the $30 Rebel Sport gift card. :D

Is that another hint that someone wants me to photoshop it.

I might try later, if I've got time.

Are you sure they are there? Because we went to Rebel at Greenhills today and they didn't have them! Come on already!

I don't know...I'm nowhere near Charlestown or Greenhills at the moment. :P And I won't be going there for a little while yet.

Good call, I think it would! It'd be good to get some more red in one of them, anyway. But the away one looks much better in the photos than it did in the drawings of it.

the new jerseys look nice, but could still use a little improvment IMO, the away one would've looked better if it really was white like it looked in the picture, there's an NHL hockey team called the Montreal Canadiens who have the same colours, IMO Newy's jersey would look better with if they used the Canadien's jersey for a bit of inspiration, here's a pic:

Welcome ozidude!

Yea there was much debate about the away jersey when we all first had a look at it, but its has just grown on us. Its not that bad, would be nice to see how it looks when the players wear it during a game.

thx for the welcome knightno7, yeah this is the first time I saw it, im sure itll grow on me when the season starts :)
Jonno, yeah I'm a Boston Bruins man myself (original 6 rival of the canadiens lol!) yeah it has been going well for the Canadiens, we've been getting our arses handed from the Habs this season :(

Welcome Ozidude :)

I am sure the jersey will grow on most people come the season. A radio host said how gross they were but he will not know any difference come 10 weeks in say.

Welcome ozidude and thankyou for not naming yourself anything with the word knight/s in it - too confusing for me lol.

I prefer the silver to white but I prefer the red to silver lol
and GO PENGUINS. (Sidney crosby - what a hottie, melts my ice thats for sure)

THE Knights will turn back the clock and wear red-and-white jerseys for their round-six heritage game against the Roosters at Bluetongue Stadium as part of the NRL's Centenary of Rugby League celebrations.

The game has been scheduled for 2pm on Sunday, April 20 exactly 100 years to the day the first premiership matches were played in Sydney.

Known as the Rebels, Newcastle played in red and white in the NSW Rugby Football League in 1908 and 1909 but withdrew the following year to form their own competition.

As a tribute to Newcastle's pioneers, beaten 8-5 by Glebe at Wentworth Park, the Knights will wear red-and-white hooped jerseys, black shorts and black socks.

All clubs will play in replica jerseys and colours and the round will feature games between traditional or neighbouring rivals, or teams that joined the premiership in the same year.

Meanwhile, New Zealand Warriors coach Ivan Cleary named former Knights junior Aidan Kirk in a 20-man squad for the game against Newcastle at North Harbour Stadium tomorrow night.

A 21-year-old fullback, Kirk joined the Warriors from the Roosters at the end of 2006 and was one of the stars for the Auckland Lions in last year's Premier League.

He was Newcastle's Harold Matthews (under-16s) players' player in 2002.

just saw the training singlets on the knights website and though they home jersey could have had the silver in the side panels aswell, that would have made the jerseys complete opposites aswell. I dont really like how the home is almost completely blue. So IMO either white or red in their would have looked better.

Just wondering how many people are thinking of buying the centenery jersey? i rekon it would be a good item to have as ive got the knights 1988 jersey in the silk replica aswell. Only problem is not many places will sell it and a dont really wanna spend $160 on a jersey. I was lucky with the 1988 jersey as i picked it up a few yrs after for only $80 at supporters-world in wollongong, but i did have to settle for a XL which is a tad too big 4 me.
