Knights Launch New Jerseys *Pictures*

All kids arent Knights diehard fans who post hourly on an Internet forum though like us (and I was one of those kids who wanted all the sponsors as well)

but believe me that the majority of kids dont care about the sponsors, the colours and the design and the logo is heaps enough

the kids know Johnno

they know more than us, and the sponsors arent an issue for them

they want the same design than the players, they dont care about sponsors

I have read a few of your posts and feel obliged to jump in.

I think the points made by a few other posters are valid, everyone wants the jersey to look EXACTLY the same as what the players are wearing. Kooga could have brought the jersey to the marketplace without sponsor logos and released it in October, leaving a whole bunch of fans (the ones who got in earliest) with a jersey that would not have been as per the playing strip.

Left with the choice of producing an inferior garment early or the correct garment late the latter was chosen. The 'corporate' decision would be to produce the jersey without correct logos and take advantage of pre Christmas sales. This would make Kooga money but leave those fans who got in early short changed. This is exactly what happened last year with the back sponsor.

Happy New Year everyone!

The hoopla over the sponsors is over the top....lots of clubs make changes mid year and we have as well...a SUPPORTER jersey is a Supporters jersey, and the rubbish about sponsors is over the top....we buy the jersey to support the club, if i have a Knights jersey on people understand that I am a Knights fan... not a supporter of Coal and Allied and Hunter Old....and OH MY GOD....the Knights wear NIB not NBN....i must not be a proper Knights fan because my sponsors are outdated!!! Oh Dear Oh Dear

(that last bit was my attempt at sarcasm) lol

yeh but the only reason ppl are payin $160 for a jersey is because of sponsorship and authenticity, they could have released the jerseys without the sponsors then put the price down to like $75-100

Look im all for the sponsers and personaly i would rather that becasue it is THE jersey. But saying that, im supporting the Knights NOT coal and allied, NIB, Bluetounge, etc so i guess i wou;ld wear the non sponserd one i have had a wallabies jersey with out the sponsers becasue its basiclly QANTAS and thats it

To me, having a jersey with the sponsors is not about supporting the sponsors its about having a actual knights jersey like the players, not just a supporter jersey. Thats just my preference. I I compltly disagree about most kids not wanting the sponsor tags, in fact I don't think I have personally met a kid who doesn't, especially the younger ones who want to be just like their heroes

OK, it's daytime here now so I can think a little more clearly.

To me, the issue isn't about whether or not the shirt has sponsors on it. Sponsorship is very important in all sports, whether we like it or not. And sponsors have to be kept happy to a degree. If fans only buy shirts without sponsors, then what's the point of a sponsor paying money to feature on the kit? My gripe is the fact that the club has missed the golden marketing opportunity of Christmas. Kids will ask parents for merchandise for Christmas - that's a known fact. Over here, sales of football shirts increase enormously over Christmas because Premiership clubs know that disappointed kids don't make happy headlines.

The club should be in constant talks with sponsors throughout the year. When contracts come up for renewal and new shirts are due, Christmas release dates should be sacrosanct. All SuperLeague clubs have their 2008 shirts out now (with the exception of Castleford who have an excuse since they didn't know until October whether or not they'd be in SuperLeague - oh the joys of relegation/promotion).

Official season starts in about 10-11 weeks. Trials start Mid February. I'd say it'd be released some time next month, so that they could at least cash in on those 'end of January' sales.

The lovely ladies at the knights kingdom informed us that they MIGHT have the new jerseys this friday but they are not holding their breath. Lets hope they come out.....sometime... ever..

If they don't, burn the place.

No wait. Loot it of all its merchandise, then burn it.

(Then give lots of merch to me)

But anyway, are you or Dave planning on buying one upon release?
