Another thing ive been thinking, i hope Gardner didnt put in Pongas contract that he will captain the side? He got the gig when negotiations were on even thou Friz and Dsaf were doing a good job.
Would make it tough to take job off him if findings of investigations come up negative. Even thou the club should do it for at least 12 months for him to mature into the role.

but it’s clear these guys haven’t considered anything whatsoever and as captain there’s a standard that is clearly not being met. Really disappointing stuff and just one more kick in the guts nobody asked for.

if they were expected to support their team while injured, the club would make them travel to the game with the team. this is their job and by not taking them they were given the night off. ontop of that they entered the pub well after the full time siren anyway.

Seriously if Kent was on my side about literally anything, right down to questions like “does fried chicken taste good?” and “is it important to drink water?”, I’d be taking a long hard look in the mirror…

I'm thinking they didn't go as per their injury protocols. Concussions and pressure from flying as well as blood clots/trauma, flying is no good. In saying that it should be in best interests to at least behave.
 
Has it been confirmed he was out whilst we were playing? If he was then he should really be stood down from being captain. If they went out after fulltime despite what I presume happened in that bathroom with him and Mann there is nothing really wrong with it so him escaping punishment I guess makes sense.

it was reported they didnt enter the venue until after 10pm. fair chance they watched the game together at home before deciding to head out. even if they were at the venue during the game, pretty sure it would be getting shown there anyway 🤷‍♂️

yeah thats a fair call, It may well just be club policy or a cost measure for flights etc. i think i recall reading 1 of the safs not travelling with the squad when out injured also.

Parr was on triplem talking about this this morning. Said they do not take injured players to games as a cost measure (his words were "heavily loaded party")id imagine cost and size of the group would be ample not to have to carry injured players along awell also said it never happened at cowboys either.

No point bringing injured players to an away game in another state, that’s literally never been a thing.

Even Joey buggered off and was barely at a game when he did his knee at the start of 04 and was out for the season.

Yeah the thing I keep hearing about Jackson Hastings is that he’s a bit of a phoney, works hard on his image on social media etc but isn’t that nice or committed a team man behind the scenes.

Paying your own way to watch your teammates play interstate as Jacko did definitely does seem a bit of a “look how good a bloke I am everyone!” move. Can’t say I’ve ever noticed or been bothered about players doing it beforehand, always figured they’d just be watching it on tv.
 
Even the injured and suspended players would have to go to the video sessions where they'd have to watch plays over and over and discuss everything that went right and wrong.
I think having to do that every week would make it nearly impossible to sit and watch a game on TV for pleasure.
Ponga has said many times that he doesn't watch many games on TV.

Agree. At the end of the day it is a job, with the pressures and hassles that overlay any job.

I’ve seen that “7 games” stat floating around the traps this week and I’m given to understand Paul Kent is the source. It isn’t accurate, he must have done his research by looking it up at the bottom of a bottle of Penfolds Bin 34.

Imagine hearing the winos on NRL 360 drop a stat and just accepting it’s true. Couldn’t be me.

And whatever you might think about Ponga going out on the **** after watching the game that night, I do think Kent’s comments were very poor, suggesting he’s missing games due to a moral failing or lack of effort is disgraceful. You can’t pass a HIA assessment by just trying harder and the club would be setting themselves up to be sued into bankruptcy if they let him play against medical advice atm.

Stop repeating things those idiots say, that show is 100% controversy-mongering and turning the sport into a soap opera and 0% actual footy analysis. Truly idiotic program and everyone who watches it and shares stuff from it should be ashamed.
