Kalyn Ponga discussion

I'm not convinced it'll make as much difference as everyone else seems to.
I think that depends on Kayln, and how seriously he devotes himself physically to a full healthy offseason.

It might not make a difference, but if it doesn't, that's not a good sign for us or him.

I think not playing in the WC is going to be huge for Dan, for example. But if KP takes the extra training opportunity to spend more time in the bathroom with Kurt Mann... well, the benefit is likely limited

How wouldn't an extended break away from even contact training not be good for recovering from concussion?
He's already having that break. There is a protocol in place. If more than 6 weeks break would have been helpful, that's what would have been prescribed. Feel free to correct me but I'm pretty sure no one on here is a doctor.

I'm not a doctor, but it isn't about the concussion.

He can either spend the full offseason with the team and training at the team facilities; or he can travel to England, train a bit, play a bit, and when he gets back he has to (by virtue of the NRLPA's agreement with the league) take an additional period off away from the team.

As a Knights fan, for those reasons I hope he doesn't play. If I was just making a team selection around what's best for Australia, he's definitely my 14.

Honestly if anything, the more our players spend time away from AOB, the better off they'll be I reckon. Can they all get picked for the world cup?
Agreed, I want as many of our players playing in the World Cup as possible. Get them out of this struggling environment and give them the chance to experience new systems/structures and get exposed to International level competition and the challenges of that arena.

Think I'm happy either way, definitely benefits to either option. Being around all those top players and having a couple of games against less competitive nations is probably a great way to ease back into playing.

Times have changed...

In the current environment for the club and himself, good decision. Shows he cares.

But it's a bit of a bummer the knights and KP weren't in a better position it would be good for him and club to again improve his skills and take some more lessons from experienced and successful players back to his own team mates.
