Kai Pearce-Paul discussion

Doesn’t have great leg drive (which limits how effective the offloads are), runs bad lines, defends physically but is liable to be beaten on his outside. More of a workhorse than a dynamo. I was excited we got him but he’s English so I assumed it was like $400K. The $800K deal for Kai given the team needs we actually had at the time quite rightly got the previous recruitment admin sacked.

He’ll be fine at Wests.

Nah you’re not alone. He’s got some great natural skills but certainly a lot easier for him to show them in the ESL where the defence is basically non existent. In the NRL you need the physicality to dominate the line and then pop the offload but he unfortunately lacks the physicality side of it.
