Joseph Leilua released by the Knights

Yeah Sione's getting a bit owned. I've seen him put some solid contact on earlier in the season but he's having trouble generally. I take hope in the fact that he could still be playing NYC this year & the whole of next year & most kids can't defend in the NYC at 20. I'm not sure about dropping him though, he's still our best option after Gagai & we might aswell just keep him in there & hope he gets used to first-grade defending in time for next season. Season is over, let's try & develop these guys with NRL gametime as much as we can.
 
If the rest of the squad get their **** together in defence then Sione needs some time in NSW Cup. But while his much more experienced teammates aren't doing any better in defence it's probably not fair to drop the kid.

I think back to the hit on Jackson Bird he did against the Sharks and that's something ill miss. He has the capabilities to and has done those bone rattler tackles which take the sting out of the opposition attack. And he is better one-on-one then Sione and Gaigai. Defending with McManus it is probably the more handy side.
 
Hot tip - he's going to be coming off the bench and playing in the middle for the Raiders today.
 
The only thing notable about his debut yesterday was he has had a short No. 2 haircut and boy he looks a fat slug in the Raiders yellow strip.

Fair play to Ricky.
He got the big boy playing to his potential, when no one else ever could - except for Samoa - he kills it for Samoa.
 
Even though I wish we still had Leilua, a fit Leilua, I'm still not convinced he's finally grown up. He was good here too for a few years until he got comfortable. Let's see if he keeps having a go every year. Although it probably has something to do with tough coaches keeping him on his toes too, Bennett & Stuart had him going good.
 
He played better than any of the players that took the field for us yesterday, minus the twins they were great shame no one runs off their hips in support
