Jayden Brailey

Sounds like Levi is still in the Club's plans for next year and potentially beyond. Obviously, if Brailey came here, he'd want to be the starting 9. That's not a bad thing as we should be looking for players hungry for the responsibility rather than those who are happy to be a backup. Brown said that Levi plays best when his spot is under pressure.

Don't know about that, sounded like Brown was being pretty diplomatic about it all, but the last question was does he reckon he could have both of them then & Brown dodged the question by saying the recruitment manager is the one to ask about that. Surely if Levi was in the plans, Brown would at least say something like we'd like to have both, but rather he left it in the air.

The problem with Levi and Brailey is that neither of them play any minutes in a position other than hooker. Griff could play a full game in the forward rotation and Watson can be ordinary just about anywhere on the field, but it's hard to see how we squeeze Levi and Brailey into the 17, and if they are both on the money they deserve, they should both be in the 17.

Which leads to the assumption that Brown is not planning on having them both at the club.

Yeah, perhaps I was being diplomatic about it as well. The fact that they've already spoken with Brailey suggests there's a very good chance he's coming here and Levi's going.

Probably only a third of the guys they talked to last year ended up signing.
Brailey will probably get interest from several clubs I'd imagine. Most of them will probably talk to Levi too.

My read on the interview was we will have both, looking to sign Brailey for 2020 and Levi is signed/contracted already. Competition for who is in 1sts and who is reserves with most likely Watson bench.
The avoidance was due to question being cost of having both and therefor referred to the man with the cash.
My understanding would be if sign Brailey and let Griff and Woolford go cost would be similar. Randall our current reserve hooker could stay along with Huth coming through.
Makes sense to me.

Danny has always had an attitude problem. He carried on like a pork chop when Nugget Griffin signed with his request for a release and his first six weeks were very much below his best. Competing for his spot challenges him.

If Levi is the only signed hooker we have then I guess Griffin wont be resigned .

I'd Keep Buhrer and Griffin on minimum contracts for the share value they give us mentors off the field to our young guys, if they get better deals elsewhere I'd wish them all the best.

Danny's "future at the Knights" hasn't changed because before any of the Brailey talk they had already told Danny he is free to leave if he can find another offer.

"Danny’s playing very well, that’s first and foremost most important,” Brown said.

“Secondly he’s got a contract, and Danny generally plays his best football when he’s under pressure.

“Jayden Brailey is certainly a good player, a player we do have an interest in that we’ve spoken to. But it certainly doesn’t change Danny’s future at the Knights.”

The old 'contract' talk. "He has a contract here & unless something changes, that's the way it is." It's the classic line whenever a player or coach is getting moved on/asking for a release. At this stage Levi has a contract so Brown will talk like he has a contract, but don't get that confused with the Knights will stand in his way if he finds a new deal.

Yeah, the between the lines bit is always, he has a contract, but we would get rid of him if we could, so he will be here next year unless something changes.

I'm sure Levi knows where he stands.

Rumour on Facebook that we have signed Brailey on a 3 year deal.
Toohey said on Twitter that no contract has been signed yet.
