Jamie Soward V Johnathan Thurston

Jonno

The 18th Man
I guess we will see the NRL Judiciary's consistency this week. Noway that was a bad as Thurstons, didnt deserve a (possible) 8-point try.

Thurstons was after the try had been scored, Sowards was before, the boot nowhere near the head (knee maybe), and there was nowhere near the risk of injury to inglis as there was to the wolfman

Soward kicked Inglis because Inglis grabbed his neck and Soward tripped.

Thats what i thought. It could have been a dangerous kick and nearly hit his jaw didnt it? He'll probably be charged for it. If he gets suspended then the judicary is surely a total joke (even though we've established that).

No way should it have been an 8 point try and it was no where near as bad as Thurston's.

Both should've been suspended. Hopefully they stay consistent with the 8 point try a rub out players attempting to stop tries with their foot. I dont really care about Thurstons kick the head. He should've got suspended but we got awarded the 8 point try. They just need to be consistent!

Soward should get a few weeks but because he's the golden boy probably won't get anything
Soward = The most overrated player in the game

I'd say Soward's was worth about two weeks, Thurston's worth about four weeks.

That's going by the standard of whoever it was who got suspended earlier in the year (Merritt?).

I picked the 8 point try live at the match in Kogarah, definately was dangerous, but i would like to see it again.

Totally not true he is the only in form halfback going around

Cept he's a five-eighth.

He might not be quite as great as some make out, but he's definitely having an excellent season. He'd be my pic for the Dally M medal, if I was a judge, or something haha.

I think rugby league has a way or rather the media has a way of overrating players, Soward said himself he wasn't ready or a savior for the blues when the media were hyping him up after about two good games. Soward is having a great season and he has transformed and improved under bennent but i do agree that many do overrate him, but that does not take away the talent he has. Much like JT, he his a great player but many make him out to be a god of rugby league.

And to do with the kicking charge, he was being chocked but soward clearly went for a kick with his leg, he shouldnt be charged but i dont think he should miss any games for it.

He wasnt being choked, you could see that inglis's hand wasn't gripped on his neck.

I thought inglis was choking him, tbh he has been the most consistent player in the competition, he has only played 1 bad game all year, compare that to thurston, inglis, slater and even hayne, they have all had rough patches this year, but apart from round 1, soward has been a machine.

I don't agree, I think he is the best player in the NRL.

But he is a bit of a protected species, though.

The guy is no better then Mullen his kicking game is better but Mullen has a better passing game, best player c'mon Thurston is 10 times better then Soward

I rate Soward pretty high. Hes a consistant player week in week out and is mainly the reason why the Dragons are sitting at the top of the table.

Dont think Thurston is better though.

He's had a great season no doubt but I'd put that down to their pack of forwards as much as I would Soward. Nearly every game they've played they've won the battle of the ruck
