James Schiller discussion

Conviction is a heavier punishment than people realise.

This stupid moment, is going to follow him forever. Much more impactful than a fine.

Anyway, as for the fans not lifting him up, on socials and on here, socials is an absolute wasteland of intelligence and decency.

On here, people tend to play the player not the man. Criticism of his errors is fair, as is praising his positives.

I seriously don't think Schiller is on here, and sitting at home going geez, I wonder what the people of marathon stadium.com.au think of me. If a player is going to worry about socials opinions they are going to struggle.

The kid obviously isnt the brightest spark. He got emotional. Was probably on the ****. Did something very dumb, grotesque, unfair and regrettable.

That's my first thought, a conviction for that is way overboard, considering the amount of people who commit acts of violence and no conviction recorded.

I've never done that type of thing, but with a skinful wouldn't put it beyond me or most people.

As fans we have every right to praise and criticize without our engagement their job disappears.

But it should never cross the line to being personal or attacking families, race, background ect(unless they come from Belmore lol.)

Exactly.

This idiot crossed the line. I'm sure players cop plenty in dm's they don't share.

If I were a player I'd never read them.

But this bloke got what he deserved.

Even just some of the stuff people I'm close to have gotten away without a conviction for lol. DUI's with blood alcohol limits which would have your eyebrows levitating above your skull. Possession with intent to distribute. No convictions.

As far as the gronk that made death threats, 20 years old is not an excuse. I did silly things at that age but threatening people’s lives has always been the most brain dead howzo thing imaginable, (besides actually doing it)

I don’t know, you get angry, you imagine what you are going to do, search up James, type the message. There’s a lot of time to cool down and wake up to yourself. $750 is laughable.
Yeah I worry about the safety of other people in his life if that's how he reacts to a game of football. Hopefully he gets some professional help, because that's one pretty angry guy.

There is a big focus on online bullying and threats these days though.

And, this bloke made what appeared to be a very credible threat to kill a person.

Though your mates could have had a conviction, their indiscretions were reckless but not aimed at hurting another person.

I'm sure this bloke has an option to appeal the conviction.

Yep I'm certainly not sitting here feeling sorry for the guy . The recorded conviction is certainly going to affect his life more then the fine !

Being his Dad is a high end lower, you have to wonder if the Judge either wanted to prove a point or had an axe to grind.

Did Mam even record a conviction? I know different state but still.

I would suspect it's more about the number of people using a carriage service to stalk people and issue death threats.

As to Ezra getting off without a conviction (or so I just read), IDK if he just got lucky or it's a case of the celebrity footballer getting celebrity treatment or the Broncos using their clout....I suspect it was a bit of all three. The funny thing is the Liberal government were banging on how outraged they were and that there would be law changes....of course nothing has been done.

There’s also the fact that in a public facing spot like being a pro footy player there’s also going to be a huge sanction from the league he’s a part of. I think they factor that in.

And the level of public ridicule he has and will get. I think they factor it all in to work out the penalty.

If this bloke got no conviction, he disappears back to his life and anonymity.

Get Greg tackling in the off-season. Put him on an edge. He could be similar to Sifa Talikai. We have wingers, Schiller, DeCoucy, Hunt. Been said a thousand times already unfortunately Greg is a liability in the air. How many tries would have been leaked this year to Greg not catching the ball cleanly. The coach should have done this move already. How often does he need to see the fault.

If Marzhew was playing as an edge back-rower he’d drop the ball on impact every time he’d hit the hole as a lead runner. Plus he’d be a defensive liability.

Not sure what we can do with Greg. His meters are invaluable. Sometimes it’s worth giving a penalty to avoid him being left isolated one on one.

Einstein’s theory maybe?
