Just that Hastings and his manager were spotted meeting with knights management. Makes it official I guess. Hopefully an announcement can be made soon. Well bored of the speculation.
 
They will probably sign him for 24 & 25 and try and bargain a release for 23.
It will probably cost us a player.

We are desperate for a half and Hastings seems like the best realistic option even if we only get him in 24. Players like Mosses won't come here.

That's if the Dolphins don't sign him first.
 
The three-year contract is good. He's only 26. He seems like a character that would fit in and be popular in Newcastle for the fans. But yeah until the signing is done then I'll believe, been nothing but smoke and mirrors with Brooks.

Ah yeah sorry mate I should have posted a summary.

There’s some quotes in there from Joey too talking about how much he rates Jacko. Also saying that he worked with him before when he was consulting with the Chooks and found him to be “a really respectable young fella”.
 
He’s so much better than Brooks it’s not funny and at 26 he’s got more years as a first grader ahead of him too. From an on-field perspective, being saved from our own stupidity in our pursuit of Brooks, by the even greater stupidity of the Tigers, and then falling *** backwards into Hastings… you couldn’t write it. I’ll honestly feel sorry for Tigers fans if it happens.

This one says it may be an immediate swap for Klem
Newcastle and Wests Tigers are in deep discussions about an immediate potential player swap involving stars Jackson Hastings and David Klemmer.

The Knights are keen on landing Hastings after identifying the former Man of Steel to be their long-term no.7.
 
Good business. We have to much money in the forwards and Klemmer is still a good player but not worth the coin he is on. Especially with the Safs, Thompson, Hetherington and Crocker around.

Hastings is a good fit for us as an on the ball seven that can be kick goals.

Would be more then happy seeing Hasting story continue here in Newcastle. He seems very passionate about any team he plays for and there fans. Very engaging and a real arse kicker. Very hopeful if it happens that he has a long successful story to tell
 
Hastings reminds me a lot of Mitchell Pearce.
I think he will bring the leadership qualities and direction.
He is also younger than Pearce was when he came here.
Ponga can bring the spark, speed and elusiveness.

We need a good fullback too.
 
How good is it that we may be getting Hastings because they wouldn't let us sign Brooks.
Watching games this year Hastings is clearly the better half and leader and he also plays on the opposite side of the field to Ponga.
Apparently can kick goals too?
 
Can stomach 7. Hastings 6. Ponga.

Pryce, Hodgeson, etc should develop into the fullback role. If not there's a few guys playing wing at other clubs who would probably go alright at fullback.. your Garrick, Farnworth, Johnson, stainses of the world.
