Wait so now they are offering him $400k? Ouch, dont match that Knights
If true, Dogs fans will have egg on their face for thinking $333k was overs!
 
$400k?!?!? That is definately a bit over haha. Lets hope Tinks has a fair bit of 3rd party deals to beat that.

They can afford to up it with the guys they bought this year? It would be a very tight squeeze
Hodko, Tolman, Pritchard, Eastwood, Keating are already over a million together
 
Its the Bulldogs remember, creative accounting since 2002.

They want their man bad, not lets hope the knights dont get in a bidding war, because 400k could buy you a very good centre with change left over to buy a solid prop.
 
Haha yeah, and yep I highly doubt we will want to match it. 333k was a good offer.
That said I didnt know NBN did had their own press. And also I am curious as why he'd talk to NBN first. The Telegraph spoke to Greenberg today and he didnt mention anything about the Dogs offer?
The Dogs might have upped their offer since this morning and tonight.

All abit of talk I say. If the Bulldogs throw 400k at Idris, then I think they can have him.

My actual gut feeling is he is always going to be a Bulldog, just went up the F3 to bump his price tag a tad more.

That image would have the Bulldogs worried regardless of how much they try and hide it.
 
400k a year is a joke, let the Bulldogs keep him if true. I thought Greenberg was a mastermind but he mustn't realise how much he's effecting their depth. Lose 3-4 players to re/sign one, awesome tactics...

And if only 2 players are allowed 3rd party payments, surely Idris will be getting some now so which one of their many recent recruits are getting the other lot of payments? I'd imagine Pritchard didn't leave Penrith just because he thought white and blue suited him more..

I'd love Idris here but not for that much, 400k could be spent on someone ALOT better or could very well go towards 2 big name salaries. I guess we'll see how serious he was about being a Knight in the coming weeks.

They will do it because they know they can get away with it

Steady on. Proof please.

Just because they did it now doesn't mean they'll do it again.

Players may have made concessions and you don't know the complete salary of every other player, also accounting for third party deals.

Sure, they may be squeezing the cap, but accusations of cheating are pretty big without proof.
 
watching jamal idris play in the opening two games for the bulldogs, i simply cannot believe the negativity surrounding signing him. He is a sensational player, and would be one of the top players the knights would ever have brought to the club if we sign him
 
Idris spoke to the media after the game about his decision. NO formal offer has been made by the Bulldogs and we should know more in another fortnight.
