Hi Everyone! (Introduce Yourself!)

Welcome BFC! Curious, what made you follow the Knights also?

I’m a born and bred Newcastle boy, but I left Newcastle when I was 21 and moved to Northern NSW (Lennox Head). Lived there for 20 years. I guess I kinda of supported the Titans as my second team but in all honesty was not into supporting two teams. So I’m staunch Knights! Haha

Well franklauda it's a little like I said my sport, my school, kids school and kids sport. One meets people likes them and wants to support them. I was born in Kogarah then moved to the shire when The Kingsway was the only tarred road other than the Princes H'way. So it was always Saints til The sharks took over the dump.

Hi All,

New here but a long-time lurker. Always enjoyed the discussions here. I’m from Sydney. Never lived in Newy but started following the club in the early 2000s due to the johns bros when I was still a kid. Obviously we’ve had some lean years since those days. Hoping brighter times on the horizon!

Looking forward to joining the discussions!
Welcome Chaister, I hope you enjoy posting here now!

Welcome aboard Chaister! Very nice to have you here and looking forward to having you here - great that you’ve finally signed up! :)

Being a lurker, you'll already know this, but this is a very respectful place for everyone to have their view. I've kept off all other social media but this forum is largely pleasant.
Yeah I’ve had to stop reading comments about the club on social media. Pretty bad reading!

I resisted joining Facebook until the Knights made the jersey flegg gf a couple of years back. I joined up to watch the game as it started, at half time my account got shut down for dubious actions and I walked away happy.

There are so many posters in this thread I remember from the old days, it’s definitely a trip down memory lane.
I just read through it, so many old names and memories came back! The early days of 2006-2010 or so were just crazy times, pretty burned into my mind. Definitely simpler times on the WWW interwebs.

It’s a pity more of the old posters have not kept posting. Some made huge numbers of posts and then stopped posting.

Hi all,

I’m hutcho, I’ve been following the knights since moving to Newy as a 10 year old at the beginning of the 2001 season.

Fav player ever is Bedsy. I loved watching Uate progress through the jnrs and making it in FG. Such an excitement machine.

Current favs are Dylan Lucas (very underrated imo), and a bit of a hot take but Phoenix. After years of watching players like Joey Leilua, the sims sisters etc. disgrace the jersey due to a lack of heart, Phoenix is all heart and is criminally underrated defensively. He may not be the most talented player but no one can question his commitment.

I’m an associate lecturer and former MD.
Other than league, I’m a boxing diehard as a practitioner and fan.

Looking forward to interacting with ya’ll!

Welcome aboard Hutcho!

Lucas and Crossland are two of my favourites as well. We have come a long way from the “social loafing” of Korbin Sims.

Welcome aboard Hutcho, nice to have you here! Don’t worry, criticism of Crossland is banned on this forum since he debuted for the Kiwis. 😁

G'day Knights fans,

Long time reader, first time poster.

I was born in Newcastle Hospital and was there for round 1 in 1988. I don't remember much about the game but I do have some great memories of that year and particularly the hill.

Like many people, I had to move away for work as a young man but I'll always be a Novocastrian at heart.

Down here in the bush capital which I know some of you don't rate but it's been a great place to bring up kids. I live around the corner from Ricky Stuart who always says g'day if you run into him in the street.

My favourite Knight (which was a tough decision) was Ben Kennedy. Probably not enough made of the massive impact big Ben made at the club and on our 2001 title win. I remember being at that Preliminary final, the Sharks couldn't hide Preston Campbell in defence from a rampaging Ben Kennedy.

Good times. And hopefully, the Knights are well on the way back to that golden era. I've long maintained that the Blues are successful when the Knights are successful.

Cheers,
Seano

Welcome aboard Seano, nice to have you here!

They could almost have shared the 2001 Clive Churchill, Ben Kennedy definitely one of the most deserving players who didn't receive it.
