Hayden Knowles

I don't know how professional or unprofessional Knowles is. Clearly he has a great deal of experience and no doubt has the technical knowledge needed. That said, with the Klemmer incident and his Twitter arguments, he might just not be a good personality fit within the organisation. If half the team (and I don't mean only the players) are off him, then it can be distracting and disruptive for him to stick around. Plus we're almost at end of season. Letting him walk now gives him and us more time to find alternatives.
 
Thought it was a really bad look from Knowles to get involved on twitter and argue with fans and Barry Toohey and had the feeling he was going to leave the Knights.

I also had hyped Knowles up when he joined us from Penrith thinking he'd help with getting us fitter and improve but isn't hasn't worked out at all especially after his argument with Klem.

Agree it's a really bad look and if we were run properly, it would be a breach of contact.
 
Which ever way you look at it Knowles has handled the situation unprofessionally. Ideally he should have taken the matter to AOB at the completion of the game and one would think the three would sit down behind closed doors and resolve the issue. If he feels AOB is not in control of the team and or the culture of the team then his next port of call should have been Parr, once again behind closed doors. Airing views on social media is a recipe for disaster and if he is as professional as he says, publicly airing your dirty laundry is not going to sit well with senior management

Of all the issues surrounding Knowles, I think this is the most important....in his key role of getting the squad performing and maintaining peak fitness throughout the season, he hasn't met his KPIs from what I've seen...

We have a squad of players that look gassed for significant parts of most games they play. I watched 2 games on the weekend that go to show how poor our fitness is:

The Friday night game between the Roosters and the Storm was played at SoO intensity for the whole game and yet the score line was 18 points to 14 after a torrid 80 minutes - the Knights would have been roleld by 60 against either of those sides on the weekend.

The second was our game, where we played like busted against a side that was down to 12 for the last 29 minutes...and the best we could do was rack up a 12-6 score line in that final period. This was effectively 2 longer range efforts that relied more on a bit of attacking skill by Dane than any capability of us to use our numbers to fatigue our opponents out of the game.

Their scramble in that last 20 was impressive but also showed superior fitness on top of self motivation to turn up for each other

I doubt many will put much weight on what he says after the way he carried on though, he seems like a loose cannon.
 
This is what ****s me, Knowles is one of the best strength and conditioning trainers in the game, we get him here because of his proven reputation at Penrith and Gus speaks highly of him. he chose to come to the knights, certain players not liking his training regime? …knowles ways has worked so well at the penrith for the time he was there…..we need to pi.ss of the players at the knights who are stuck in there ways and won’t adapt…

To be fair, Penrith look even fitter since he left

Player/people attitudes can make any professional look like they are not fit for the job they applied for.

When AOB is sacked next year It will be the same loop again as always, only difference Is that player attitudes won't change.

(Waiting with abated breath for the "It's easier to sack a coach than an entire squad" comments.) 🤣
