Four Nations Final: Australia v New Zealand @ Suncorp Stadium

Prince is twice the player Cronk is, and then some IMO. Feel sorry for the bloke that he never gets a look in for the kangaroos or really not much of a go for Qld.

Australia's main problem through the tournament and especially tonight, were the backline. The wingers/centres as well as Slater, were just crap. Tonga is a decent player, but he was simply SKD's b!tch tonight. While i think it's good to keep some players who have proven themselves for Aus, Like Josh said, you stilii need to pick some players who have form to bring over. How Uate and Boyd were over looked I have no idea........

Yeah I thought it was won and lost in the backlines of both teams. NZ's forwards may have had a slight edge, but the two side's packs more or less cancel each other out these days.

Difference is... Australia are a bunch of individuals put together by QLD and NSW players.

The bond isn't there at all... They all play for themselves in the side.

New Zealand side is completely different, it's like they're a small family united.

Ps lol to Tim Sheens... Choosing Tuqiri over Boyd and Tonga alltogether.

Also true. I can definitely sense a rift between the NSW and Queensland players in that side. Ever since game 3 2009 ... I might be imagining it!

Did anyone see the person who dogged Shillington when the fight was on? I dunno who it was but he came from the side and whacked him on the side of the head hah

It was Eastwood! Not usually a dirty player, but that was a sneaky one. Mind you, on the king of cheap shots Shillo.

Carney was good for Australia when he got a shot though, so he only really went quiet in the GF.

Marshall can't play good week in week out, once every few games he pulls out a flick pass and everyone talks him up to be a world beater. He is a freakish player but whether you like it or not Carney is a lot better than him and more consistent aswell.

I can only conclude you haven't seen a game in the last two or so years to be saying Marshall isn't consistent. Better judges than me have noticed this area of his game improve massively in recent times.

But let me guess, you "hate" Marshall and "love" Carney, so Carney is "way better, man".

I don't see it as harsh at all.

He is way past his best and it angers me and many other Australia fans that he is keeping the games best player and 5/8th out of the team.

Lockyer is a legend and captain of the side, he doesn't get dropped, he leaves when he retires.

If Carney was so good he should have been selected at halfback, where he has played his entire career until this season.

Personally I'd have had Prince in at half for Aus, with Lockyer 5/8, of course. I was very surprised when Prince couldn't even make the squad, it seemed insane.

Finally, someone agrees with me!

Sure he has got more consistent in recent times but no way in hell can you say he is a consistent week to week footballer. Gee he has only really performed to his expectations the past two games of the four nations anyway. He is a great footballer, but for the raps he gets you would think he is Andrew Johns.

I would of had Prince aswell to be honest.

How high are your expectations of him?

He has lead Wests around all year to a top four spot, and looking at finals results, they got a lot closer to St George and were the second best side of the year, for me.

As their chief playmaker, I think he was mainly repsonsible for getting them there, with his very consistent football.

Perhaps you expect a crazy flick pass or something from him every game, but if you look at his ball-playing and kicking games, I think you will find he has been playing consistent week in week out football for some time.
