Finals Week 2 vs Warriors - 4:05pm Sunday 20th of September - Eden Park

Get Lucas covering Crokers 20mins off to get some game time in his legs. He is a good defender and can shift a bit wider in attack to keep them guessing.
If he is fit they will play him I reckon. And if they don’t then it was a ruse.
They didn’t rest players for a relatively inconsequential round 26, they won’t do it now for a sudden death final.

Agree. If he’s fit then an injection of pace / agility late on could be just what is needed. Hopefully we haven’t been blown off the park before then! 🤞
 
I feel like the wahs will target our playmakers this week to stop our shifts. Seen it last week and against manly. Sandon threw some rushed and bad passes when Sullivan or whoever their left half was came sprinting out of the line to put pressure on him. That Clayton bloke did it a lot in that manly game to kp which took him out of his rhythm.

If they give our playmakers time and space especially the skip it’ll be a long night for whoever their centres are.

A big part of our recent success imo is due to the quick PTB speed of our edge forwards. Allows us to spread the ball without the defence rushing early. We've got it on both sides of the park
 
I only just realise we have a decent amount of kiwis in our team - Crossland, Ponga, Manu (and Brown). That would have to be a little detail that’s a bit of an ‘away’ advantage. They would be frothing at the opportunity to play a final in their home country.

Compared to last time, we have Dom, Friz and Crossy (and Lucas) on deck this time, we’ve lost our props but Hopwood is a NRL starter, he’s better than Mooney in my eyes. So it’s really only Friz replacing JSaf but as we saw he was massive! I also consider that having the bye very recently will still be an advantage as Wahs last one was round 18… We’re a serious chance! 🙌🏻

PS - sneaky feeling Lucas 20 mins in 2nd row, Jermaine 20 mins at prop and switch back

Not many giving us a chance. Right to think Wahs are favourites but thought it would be closer. Oh well there be more losers this week. Lol

Two from four favourite got up last week, there’s always a few, the games that felt more 50/50 went the other way maybe less surprisingly.
I do expect the Sharks to fall off against the Roosters, and we did lead early and 16-0 with the sin bin against them last time so we’ll see how things go.
