Finals Week 1 vs Rabbitohs - 7:50pm Friday 11th of September - Allianz Stadium

I was next to the knights administration last night (Gardner, Parr etc).
Jeez they were going off.
Nothing but great things to say about the direction the club going in & the clean up that has happened. Were also so proud of all the fans in the stadium.
Highlight was a few ladies absolutely giving it to Klein while sitting next to Gardner all night.

Nah mate, hope they bash the crap out of each other and with our luck with injuries this year I hope it does happen to either of them.

He was the first one to call it on the coverage, he was pretty adamant. Obvious joke about him being such a great ref. Maybe he be in the bunker though 🤣
 
Ideally we play the phins next week. Have won 6 out of 7 against them :| and kp has a 100% win rate against them.

Granted they’ve only had one home game in those 7 but I believe we are their bogey team as although last year was shocking we beat them 2/2 and put up 26 both times when our attack was terrible. We are also one of the better teams at containing herbie which after watching gags this week that is a trend that I think could continue.

I’d still have them winning as I think they’ve stepped up a lot as a team and have been in brilliant form but similar to souths they’ve had games where they just switch off.

It’s probably 55% to 45% in favour of them but if we were to play them next week I’d personally still be confident we can go to Suncorp and steal the W.

I would rather play the Warriors than the Phins. We almost beat the Warriors with 12 men. We can win with 13.
 
I thought the South's defense last night was pretty good, they shut down quite a few Knights attacks and as usual they targeted Ponga. But the fact that Gagai and the team completely shut down Latrell I think was critical as South's looked completely lost without him dominating the opposition. If Latrell is on fire the rest of the team feeds off it and he was basically contained all game. The Knights defense was outstanding and we have shown that Ponga is not our only attacking weapon. I thought our effort against the Warriors a few weeks ago was fantastic, but last night just might be one of our best games ever.
 
I thought Keon was outstanding last night. Their right edge of Jack and Cambell defended really well, Marz could have easily scored two or three.

They were on and ready to play, Knights just outperformed them. We especially dominated in the centre and back row match ups.

Yeah they scrambled well and we their edges defended quite good as well, particularly their right side. Really felt we should’ve been up by more most of the game because we created a lot of opportunities but they made some desperate efforts to save some tries

I really think the emotions of the last two weeks sapped quite a lot of energy out of them, unsurprisingly. The bye was very handy for us
 
Yeah some teams full of players who’ve never played finals before have taken to it straight away and had a great run, but that is definitely the exception, not the rule. A team like the Dolphins making it and then going out in straight sets has a lot of precedent. Even though I do think they’re a gun side. Definitely prefer that match up than a fired up NZ in NZ.

That’s interesting as I thought he had nothing against Best, either old man legs is hitting Wighton for retirement or Best is one of the best defensive centres in the game, had him covered easily
