I missed the start by 30 minutes so watched it on delay and tried my very hardest not to open MarathonStadium.
What can I say? So proud of this team. They rose to the occasion beautifully. Everyone played their part, and I think everyone had a pretty good game.
There was a handful of sets they made good yardage up, otherwise, we kept them well contained and played a very mature game.
Dane Gagai - will go down as one of the legends of this game. You could say he gambled the game - could have been a soft binning for his jersey punch and Latrell looked ready to kill, he could’ve gone on to have a blinder and they’d probably all blame Gags. So good he took the first contact into Latrell after that. Didn’t take a backward step the whole night. Impressive. Vintage Gagai. Performances like that make me sad he only has 3 more games left here.
I don’t think I can single many of them out without referencing the next, but our forwards were immense. I feel bad with the disrespect sometimes, but Cant did well as well when he came on in the end. Hopwood, Manu and McEwen are absolute stars. Crouch, Frizz and Croker also great.
Ponga had one of his better games in recent times. Didn’t try too much, but always scheming.
Smith one of his best games this season too imo.
Thought our edge defence was good. Dom and Marzhew were great again. Wish there was some sideline awareness at times.
Crossland an absolute workhouse. We miss him so much. He does the work of 2.
Overall, I thought this was a much more mature performance. I noted a few ‘sprays’ - one from gags at McEwen after he stayed in the line and gags had to surrender, and one from Best towards Manu when Manu threw the back blindly back and Best had to recover. These boys are holding eachother to standards now. There was a gameplan. And I think that is what is exciting me the most tbh. It wasn’t just out attack them.
We did get a bit of luck go our way, but I think we made our own luck last night. Could’ve easily had a few more in the first half as well, we were that good.
Can’t wait to see them get to work this week. Always tough ask against a top 4 team - they need to lose 2 in a row. But as I’ve said, we can beat anybody on our day.
Lastly, big props to Mr Holbrook - turned this place around.

I’m pretty convinced at this point that Holbrook has asked him to protect his body & just manage the team through games for a decent chunk of the season, so that he can put the foot down a bit harder in big games. I’m sure a lot of fans won’t like hearing that, but you don’t need to be totally “on” and dominant every week to win a premiership. You need to win *enough* games in the regular season and then be able to outplay the other good teams in September & the first week of October.
Hopefully we can accommodate you for a trip to Brisbane instead.Blimin heck, I don't wanna relive my 2023 visit to Auckland for finals week two.

The media is chock-full of Wayne's sour grapes, so you'll have to blame Wayne for that.
I watched on Foxsports, but I just saw Cam Smith, who hasn't exactly shown the Knights a lot of love over the years, say that he thought the Johnson knock-on was an obvious call.
I keep waking the Dog up (she's old and likes to sleep under my desk) to the point where she started barking at me...lol
I know these days we have to be “this guy sucks” and “this guy is the greatest ever” … but last night with Wayne coaching the opposition did make me think back over our coaching journey. I was actually feeling appreciative of AOB’s time as I thought about the state Wayne left us in, and the abysmal failure of Nathan Brown’s time at the club.This is why AOB needed to leave!

The biggest thing holding our club back was him!
And I think the effort last night, which was huge, was something that developed under AOB. And the experience that quite a few of our players had playing finals under him was also a big help I think.
He wasn’t the guy to take us to this step, he was too much of a control freak around getting in the grind, playing error free and not giving the players leeway or confidence to back their attack … but when I thought back to where we were at the conclusion of the Wayne years, AOB did a heck of a lot to turn this club around.
The call was absolutely right in the end, Wayne is the only one I've heard suggest otherwise. Even the fox panel sided with the bunker from the article I saw.

The glazing of Souths was ridiculous, I never bought into the hype they were getting from the media after beating a NSW Cup Roosters side last week.
Especially with their spine they had, our one is a lot better and that's without Brown.
McEwen, Frizell, Hopwood, Gagai and Young were all very good and I thought Smith put in some nice kicks leading to tries. KP wasn't as flashy but was really solid.
That certainly made up for the big loss we had in 2020 and Wayne has a diabolical record against us now in recent years.

He attempts to cover up the fact that not only was his team outplayed but his opposition coach outplayed him in tactics
He is becoming the Donald Trump of the NRL mumbling away about how the modern game is officiated.
Like Donald he talks about something that is not the real subject (the game)
To insinuate Souths were hard done by because of one ruling is ludicrous and simply a cover up for losing
Some one should ask him why he can’t get his players UP for the game (Latrell anyone)

The Warriors look quite tired to me. Injuries starting to catch up a bit. I think if they win this week they'll be much better for the rest and make the Grand Final. But lose this week, and they could well be out in straight sets.
So I'm quite relaxed playing either side. But travelling to Brisbane might be a bit easier on us if we get the Dolphins, I guess.
Wahs to win, roosters to win this week is the softest run on paper giving us phins into roosters and avoiding both the top 2. Honestly on last night we will go with both of them, im not fussed either way just hope they bash eachother today.
