Ex-Knights Watch

Another ex-Knight lining up for the Tiges with Starford To'a set to replace James Roberts who is out with a cork.

I play Touch Rugby League up here on the Sunny Coast QLD and got a big surprise when I lined up opposite Mullo. Had a good chat after the game and he's a bloody nice bloke, had all the time in the world. He's settled up here now. Said his train and trial deal with the Sunny Coast Falcons fell through due to injuries and being to old lol. He's doing youth work for a living now and had one of the fellas he's looking after with him.

Jacob Kiraz has been named to play centre for the Bulldogs this week.

He wasn't horrible for us last year, but he didn't standout either. Outplayed by young guys like Chris Vea'ila and Krys Mapaplangi in fact.

How did kiraz go? Heard he was good
He gave it everything he had and his strong defence stood up to firstgrade level. He had to go off with cramps in the second half and came back on after a short break.
No nerves was the best thing. He took to it like he belonged there.

Hmmm what does this say about our retention people. I guess he isn’t going to replace any of the 5 first grade outside backs. May as well try and find a superstar to displace them.

It says Dylan Lucas was our best centre in reserves and both Chris Vea'ila and Krys Mapaplangi have moved to centre now and in their limited games of reserves the young guys looked like they'd eventually be better - if not better already.
Nothing wrong with Kiraz or To'a - we just don't need that many centres or wings right now.

Knights named in the 29 man ESL All stars squad for the game V England later this year.

Shaun Kenny-Dowall (Hull KR, New Zealand)

Danny Levi (Huddersfield Giants, Samoa)

Mason Lino (Wakefield Trinity, Samoa)

Jake Mamo (Castleford Tigers, Australia)

Peter Mata’utia (Warrington Wolves, Samoa)

Mitchell Pearce (Catalans Dragons, Australia)

Ken Sio (Salford Red Devils, Samoa)

Zane Tetevano (Leeds Rhinos, Cook Islands / New Zealand)

Carlos Tuimavave (Hull FC, Samoa)

Luke Yates (Huddersfield Giants, Australia)

That is a very ordinary list of ‘all stars’. The ESL is a joke with Q Cup and NSW Cup sides being as good if not better.
