Ex-Knights Watch

Goes to show how badly the super league has fallen with those 3 players nominated as three of the best 8 buys for the year this season. Hell even Linnett got named in the dream team as starting second rower.

See, out goes the bait. Not the best quality bait by any means. Just leave it out there and don’t get hooked.

Not really bait at all. I’m talking down a former Cowboy being named in their essential team of the season in a position he would of been lucky to play all of 2 games at while in the NRL as an example of how badly that comp now is. It’s barely NSW/Q-Cup standard.

Yeah it’s sad to see. I’ve always stuck up for the quality of the superleague, but these three are not really first grade quality in the NRL (although I always thought we should have given Lino more of a chance) … that they are all up for signing of the year does not say much at all.

I don’t know if rugby league has much left in it in the UK, it’s been so poorly run for so long - they seem to self sabotage any opportunity to grow the game. And now it’s really catching up with them.

Yates might have been a valuable player for us if we used him in a way that reflected his skillset.
All through the grades he was the workhorse who could do 40 or more tackles, play for 60 or 80 minutes and do 15 or so runs.
We decided to use him for short minutes off the bench as the world's worst impact player - because impact is not his thing.
In the ESL he is being used correctly for his massive workload and fitness.
All through the grades he was posting much better numbers than the Saifitis and King, and despite his size, or maybe because of his low centre of gravity, he tackles hard.
He'd never be a star in the NRL, but used correctly he could be a very good team member.

Sione, Kev Naiqama and Kristian
Woolf are through to the Super League Grand Final.

Very impressive performance from St Helens they dominated Leeds. I remember we were looking at Alex Walmsley at one stage a few years back. Would’ve been a hell of signing, he was brilliant in this game. Huge workload, strong defensively and has a good offload

Good game to watch. The game seems better reffed over there, more free flowing.
Walmsley won that game for them. Destroyed them through the middle.

I think Lomax would look good playing outside Clifford.

Watching a replay of the other final, I didn't realise SKD was still playing.
Centre for Hull KR

Playing well too.

Good to watch Kev, Sione and Woolf win a GF togeather.
Great to see Sione giving it to Maloney.

Maybe we should get Woolf back. He has that team attacking a lot better than us this year.

Their defence is what impressed me. So much aggression and line speed, Catalans did a remarkable job keeping it so close.

A very defensive game but if we are fair dinkum there was no more than 3 players who would be first grade quality out here. Such a reserve grade standard competition and grand final with the 2 best teams littered with has beens and never was’s from who have been spat out from Australia for not being good enough.

I wouldn’t go as far to say Maloney is a “has been”. Very much a winner and a competitor despite losing this one.
