I’m sure he had the right intentions at the beginning of the year. But, like the whole team gave up near the end. He’s quality, I can see him being big for the dogs next year.
I’m hopefully Trey Mooney will replace Leo. He may even be as good! POS made the right decision not paying 800+ for Leo. And got a good deal with Trey.

I think Mooney is an upgrade imo, very aggressive but without the stupid pens like Hetherington.
He has got a great build for prop or lock, hard runner, agile with a good motor, in 2-3 years time I doubt anyone will even care Leo left.
I don't care now !

I see Cooper Jenkins has extended his contract so he has another 3 years at Leeds.
His last year of Flegg he started the year on fire and was easily our best prop and went up to reserve grade and was going good before getting injured.
We let him go and he went to Qld cup where he was one of the best and won a title.
He went to Leeds this year and had a quality 24 game season under Brad Arthur.
We signed Hola and Saulo on reserve grade form, but I can't help feeling that Jenko is younger and better than both, and his Qld cup and ESL form is at least as impressive.
He played for NSW in a few junior teams, played reserve grade for us, during covid joined Maitland and won a Presidents cup at age 18, won a Qld cup title and is now going great in ESL.
I feel he could have been a very good NRL prop - tall and lean with a big motor like Cody Hopwood.

Agreed, I don’t think Hola will do anything crazy but I think he will make a very solid backup, better than Jones anyway

Hola got about 20 minutes in first grade this year despite the Phins losing all of their forwards to injury, so they obviously didn't rate him.

I’m very happy for him. It’s not his fault that he has been unable to perform to the best of his abilities since his ankle injury.

No offence but these style arguments are incredibly stupid and make no sense.
Yes he only got 20 minutes for the Phins despite injuries to the forwards but their depth was also better than ours.
It’s like saying Mooney is bad because he was stuck in reserve grade at the Raiders, no they just had extremely good forwards doesn’t make him ****.
See the argument is boring and doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
In fact if teams went by that logic than no one will actually have players as nothing behind the starters would be thought of highly at all, in other words Sua at Melbourne is bad because he was stuck behind Papi etc, obviously he isn’t but that’s the sort of avenue that argument goes down.
Hola is only ever a depth option and for that he will bring value since our depth is atrocious
