Ex-Knights Watch

Not sure about Danny full stop. I miss him nearly as much as I miss Gagai. 🤣
Haha we’re agreed on this one. I remember seeing so many Knights fans on social media being really negative about the Jayden Brailey signing, ā€œwhy are we signing this tacklebot instead of giving our answer to Damien Cook a proper chance?ā€ etc etc etc. Got into a lot of arguments because I was stoked on the Brailey signing, I don’t think people got how bad Levi is at so many of the KPIs for his position. Feel very vindicated now, I’m sure there’s not many Knights fans who’d trade Jayden for Danny now. šŸ˜‚

In under 20s Levi would play for 40 or 50 minutes a game and typically make 12 or more dummy half runs and run for over 100 metres, usually more metres up the middle then any of the forwards. He was much bigger and scored tries nearly every game.
Changes to the interchange rules meant a hooker needed to either play 80 minutes or be able to fill in as a forward.
He worked really hard to get the fitness to play long minutes, but he never quite got there and he lost all his impact as he dropped in weight to get fitter.
In the days when teams had an impact hooker on the bench he could have built up his size and power and done 30 or 40 minutes of really high impact play, but the trimmed down version doesn't have the impact for short minutes or the stamina for the full 80.

Tommy Starling - at halftime he has 1 line break, 1 linebreak assist, 2 try assists and 25 tackles at 100% efficiency as well as 68 metres run.

Jonah Pezet.
His record for the Knights across 2019 and 2020 was 12 games for 11 wins, 1 draw, zero lost, 2 minor premierships, 1 premiership (2020 ball title was cancelled).
His record for Melbourne so far is 7 games for 6 lost, 1 drawn, zero won.
At 17/18, he is playing against guys 3 or 4 years older than himself in Flegg for Melbourne, but he must be thinking life was much easier as a Knight.

Beau Fermor has got his speed back after his knee reconstruction. He gave a winger a big start and nearly ran him down - but Beau still has terrible reads in defence when he plays centre.

Sam McIntyre looks OK.

Would Fermin have made a very good right centre? At Knights
They tried him at centre in under 20s and reserve grade and he just never got the defence right.
He was the top try scorer in the under 20s comp with his speed and footwork at second row with a try a game all season, so he always looked like he should play centre.

It's all between the ears and eyes! Seeing it and doing it just don't come natural to some. I think beau has the country boy genes. Working hard but not much pretty boy knowledge upstairs.

All Stars won over England with Ken Sio scoring a double and Pete Mata'utia scoring a try and doing a one on one strip that led to another try. One review of the match I read gave Pete Mata'utia a 9/10 rating - the highest rating for the game - so basically the MOTM.
