English Recruits Watch

Obviously a great personal achievement to represent your national team but I’d say the Knights will be secretly very happy about this outcome. Gives him every chance to get acclimated and fully prepare for next season rather than playing catch up in January. Might even give him an extra chip on his shoulder too.

He's no longer an English recruit but Dom Young has missed the squad for England's first test against Tonga this weekend, Tom Makinson and Tom Johnstone preferred by coach Wane.

Pretty embarrassing if you ask me, when selection decisions are as overtly political as this. Young would have to be close to their best player. Instead, Shaun Wane has gone with a couple blokes who'd probably struggle the crack FG in the NRL. Good luck to them.

Telegraph saying they both withdrew from contention to focus on pre-season here. KPP's "injury" sounded very vague and there was no signs of any problem in the GF days before so not surprised by that. Still find it hard to believe Pryce would've been in the team in the first place, or that he'd turn down the opportunity to make his test debut at home if it was on the table.

Article also says they've both left England so should be here very soon.

Is a concern if you give up representing your country, that is far more important surely to any player over a transfer to another club
Even though both could've been in the squad, I'd have been extremely shocked if either was in the first 17 and entirely unsurprised if they each went without a game in the series. In that context I can understand them attempting to come across as quickly as possible, if that was in-fact the case.
