After being just a mathematical chance of making the finals, we have won 9 consecutive games and have earned our first home playoff game in 17 years.

The faithful Knights supporters who have supported the team through 16 profoundly disappointing years since Joey retired have been rewarded with a team that is now competitive again.

We now have the chance to give the finals series a big shake. Let’s go boys!

As far as I know, it will be:

Fri: Penrith vs NZ Warriors
Sat: Newcastle vs Canberra *
Sat: Brisbane vs Melbourne
Sun: Cronulla * vs Syd.Roosters *

(* most likely)

Sorry this is off topic, does anyone know why in 2006 we hosted the Broncos at the SFS?
They didn’t have home finals past week one at that stage. So week two onwards were just held in Sydney.

Also the finals system was so dumb, we finished fourth and beat Manly who finished fifth, our reward was a game against Brisbane who finished third, in Sydney! Meanwhile Manly got to play the Dragons who finished sixth.

To work in any way that finals system needed home finals the whole way through, we should have earned another week at home from our win in week one.

Is it too easy against Raiders? Or should we aim to knock out Roosters a big name glamour club and have a huge boost in confidence to then go to NZ?

OR

It doesn't matter? This team gonna smack whoever comes at them!

Both are probably true. But the Roosters will fight hard through the middle, harder than the Raiders imo. We'll roll the Raiders and the boys will be cognisant that it was perhaps a comparatively easy game to the alternative games and weeks ahead, the benefit being that we're fresh and hopefully workout injuries for the Warriors.

Roosters have pedigree and talent and are capable of being formidable on their day. I'd be confident of sinking them, but at what expense?

Ideally, we get to week 2, Warriors having just copped it from the Panthers. That's a good position to be in.

Yeah, I prefer the Raiders for that fact. We can have a relatively easy win, injury free hopefully, and then we go in strong against the Warriors. The Raiders are missing Papali and Horsbrough, huge outs for them.

My main memory is we forced a goal-line dropout when the game was already long gone, and it bounced to Craig Smith, hit him in the nether-regions and he knocked it on.

Simpson and Buderus were both out, which didn't help.

Said earlier that there’s already an NRLW double header set for McDonald Jones Stadium next Saturday so the men would probably be scheduled for after that but come to think of it that would be a logistics nightmare. Tickets for the NRLW have been available for a couple of months but the NRL will want to have all tickets available when they go on sale tomorrow. Would mean they’d have to go through and kick out all the NRLW crowd before refilling the stadium for the men’s. It’d turn into a stadium-wide game of hide and seek for security.

They’ll have to move the NRLW or we’ll be the Sunday game, we’ll find out tonight either way. Clearly they weren’t expecting a Knights home final when they were planning.

Do we reckon Ticketmaster will have parking tickets for sale or they’ve all been allocated? Parking a nightmare if you’re not living in newy and can grab a train/bus
