As Frank says, he’s not even in the NRL Hall of Fame. And on here I see him mentioned a lot less than the likes of Buderus and even Kennedy. It might just be that he’s from that slightly earlier era.Do people really overlook Chief? Every time I’ve seen him at Old Boys Day he’s getting mobbed like he’s Jesus Christ.
He really deserves to be. And that’s not coming from a biased Knights supporter. Origin, Australia, and captained GF win. Imposing on the field and true leader. I’m sure he will be in there at some stage. As Frank says, he’s not even in the NRL Hall of Fame. And on here I see him mentioned a lot less than the likes of Buderus and even Kennedy. Both legends, great players, great leaders and very good people. They played like the club motto says:That’s definitely the case for me. I moved to Newy as an 8 year old in 2001 and the first full game of rugby league I ever watched was the GF on my little box tv. I’ve essentially watched every game since then.
So, I missed out on Chief but I loved him on the footy show, my family are all rugby league mad so they told me all about his career.
I think Joey gets a bad wrap. I think he carried on like a lunatic when he was young but I think he’s grown into a good guy. I’ve seen him interact with little kids and fans and he’s always polite. I have family who have interacted with him and they all seem to like him.
It was a very rare occasion of us repeatedly going back to a play that was working. Other clubs would call it common sense, but on the Knights-scale it was immortal-like halves play.Dylan Lucas has the makings of a great! But don't forget Tyson Gamble. He laid on every try for Lucas on Sunday and to his credit, Dylan didn't let him down. Have a close look at the replay. Gamble was directing Dylan where to go on every play. Joey was right in his assessment in that he is going to be a great and he is prepared to put in the hard yakka to achieve greatness. He also called Fletcher Sharpe a gun, put in my opinion he's more like a cannon!!
