Danny Levi requests a release

Pearce is our sole organiser and key player. If he has a big game against Canterbury, we'll probably win. If he doesn't, we'll probably lose.
Levi, Ponga, Watson, and even Klemmer can have a good or a bad game as individuals, and it won't make us or break us, but how Pearce goes, so goes the Knights.

Yep and it’s also the difference between scoring at most 14 points in the first five weeks followed by 28/36 these last two weeks.
Which in turn puts less pressure on the defense

Give me an in form, happy, consistent Levi over bringing someone else in. He's been a big part of the recent victories. Showed the ability to adapt to the requirements each individual game. Only drawbacks are lack of kicking game and inability to play 80...he really seems to get busted at the backend of games, suppose that comes with the effort he puts in.

Barry Toohey said in his column this morning that Dany Levi is most unlikely to be playing for the Knights next year. His manager has revealed this week that 2 Sydney clubs are interested in him.

I'll be happy to see him go. We need players who want to play for the team rather than themselves.

Until or if we buy a top shelf hooker I think Brown is quite happy with Watson in the no9 jumper. We don't lose much with Watson there and the more he plays the better he will get .

Yeah Watson has been probably our best player since Levi went down. Keep him at 9 with Mann as the bench utility and look for a 5/8.

To be fair to Brown, all the blokes he has let go so far have been justified over time, even though there may have been disappointment at the time. He obviously sees a lot more than what us lounge chair experts see so I'm backing his judgement

Brown and Brian Smith have probably done a better job recruiting/retaining and letting go of guys then Wayne Bennett and combined probably didn't even make half of what Bennett was on lol

How many players Brown has let go would we have realistically benefitted from?

Go through our losses from 2016-present and I guarantee that none of those players besides maybe Mullen (if the drugs scandal never happened) would be in our best 17 now. If Levi leaves, so be it. Watson has been phenomenal since moving to 9.

If Levi goes we will still need to buy a hooker as you need backup in case of injury, until Levi is back what do we do if Watson is injured. If Griff comes back and goes well that could solve the problem leaving us with a need for a 5/8.
If Levi goes we need a hooker and 5/8 if he stays we need a 5/8, I have my doubts about Griff being ok.

I'm sure there is no malice from either Levi or the Knights. It seems Levi plays his best when he has strong competition. Hopefully we land Brailey who has a good motor and is hungry for the opportunity presumably. At the same time, I hope Levi gets a chip on his shoulder and kills it somewhere. He's an excellent hooker and it'd be great to see him do consistently well.

Tapine would have a backrow or bench spot easy
