Dane Gagai Re-Signs with Knights until 2017

I said if he signs with the broncos drop him .....but you can't do that after today's performance. Have to say glad to have my words shoved down my throat.
 
Stone said in presser that we are just about to make a formal offer for an extension on his contract. When asked if he was confident he said 'Id like to think so'.
 
Same as Aku'd, needs to learn that Uate is beside him but other than that he was fantastic. It's good to see him in some form again, he's really the kind of player that benefits from the more open footy we play now. If he keeps this up he'll be in the team for the rest of the year no doubt whatever happens with the Broncos. I never wanted to see him dropped for the possibility of him going to the Broncos, I wanted him dropped if he signed with the Broncos, but if he is actually going, it seems he's too smart to sign this early in the season.
 
The problem with signing Sione is the Knights must sign his brothers as well.
Why do their brothers want to play NSW Cup?
 
I'm hoping that they don't come as a package. Makes no sense from a footballing perspective. TBH I would be just as happy with Gags and Mamo if the brothers can only come as a package. You appear to be in the know - what's it going to take for Gags to stay? Is it the cash or the location that hes keen on?
 
I'll take whoever really wants to play for us.
I don't mind the package deal for the brothers if it's like Danoz, buy one & get a couple of extras thrown in, but I'm not too keen on throwing our salary cap at them.
I'd take Mamo any day, he's got a few issues, but he's still only young yet. He's got good X factor and his enthusiasm, even in a badly beaten team is great to see.
I'd love to see Dane stay, but he needs to follow his ticker. Be it Newcastle or Brisbane, you've got to go where you're happy... Not sure how you could be happy having all that skill & flare subdued under old man Bennett though
 
They all have talent, So if they are willing to bide their time in NSW cup then happy for them to stay! Not like we need much in our NRL team apart from a Good solid FRF. James Tamou anyone? Especially now hes been shafted to the bench (Can dream)
 
Nice!! That's the first time I've seen him actually confirm he's staying and he seems really happy. What a relief.
 
Still going to have a knot in my gut until it's official but that's helping it. Very encouraging to read.
 
To be honest it's gotten to a stage where I don't even care anymore.

Obviously I want Sione to stay (don't care able Chanel or Pat tbh) but when something has been dragged on this long you just want to see a resolution either way.

Sione said on the footy show that he wants to stay and is realistic that he may not play with his brothers long term I think offer them both short term deals and sione long term his a good player but he shouldn't hold the club to ransom
 
One of the papers said the deal the Dogs have on the table for the three brothers is more than $3million dollars over 4 years, with Sione's component being $1.8million.

That would mean Pat and Chanel would be getting $300+k between them a year. Doesn't seem like a good idea. Hopefully they are willing to take something of a hometown discount.
 
Hope their current manager (the one they're trying to get rid of) stays away from Newcastle and tries to poach some players for the Bulldogs from clubs that aren't ours. Bloke sounds like a pest.
 
If the Dogs can offer the boys the kind of money that has been talked about then that will just confirm that there is no salary cap for certain teams.
