Confirmed: Stig signs new two year Knights deal

Awesome news!!! Very happy he decided to stay, he has a big future ahead of him. It will be interesting to see where he plays next year.

Great news - still have my doubts with whether he will play full time in the halves next year though.
I hope he does play in the Halves next year!,We have to build around him and Mullen, And Kurt hopefully will be in the no 9 jersey!!, Great Day To Be A Knights Fan!, Awesome news indeed.

Great news!

Guys certainly got potential and if given the opportunity under Bennett which I'm sure he will, his career could really take off.

Fantastic news. Surely this ends the buderus speculation?

No Dont know why it would, IMO I dont think Buderus was being brought here to be a starter was being brought here to be a bench player, teach Kurt and improve morale at training. 2nd Cant imagine Stig would be on that much and Buderus transfer doesnt come out of the cap?? (confirm) So would still say Buderus would be on the radar especially after all the players we have let go especially Pato 250-300k and De Gois 250-300k

Id like to see next year,

1- Boyd
6- Stig
7- Mullen
9- Gidley

Hilder off the bench. I really cant see room or need for Buderus BUT would be a great trainer for Gids and Hilder and improve their roles in the 9 jumper.

Very much doubt Bennett would agree to a contract like that with a rookie.

Well he had already rejected the first offer, and showed he would do what was bext for him, evn if that meant leaving, even tho he would like to stay. In addition their were a few teams chasing his services including reportedly Penrith, and it is easy to see him at the 6 their next to walsh. So he obviously had option to be in the starting 17 or even 13 at other teams. Not to mention then Bennett himself told Stig he was in his plans for 2012. I doubt he would have said that to the guy if he only planned on using him for halves cover.

So his signing with the knights does give a good/high chance of likelihood that he has been given/guarnateed a spot in the 17, or even 13.

Great to see! A young local talent staying at the club - Tinkler is doing his job.

Add me to the "I doubt he's been assured any type of spot in the 17" brigade.

Just because he is in the plans doesnt mean he is assured a spot. Mata'Utai is in Bennett's plans, and would have recieved interest from other clubs, but he is far from guaranteed a spot. Wes, Sau, Tahu could also find themselves in a battle for two positions.

He might have clauses in his contract that if he doesnt play 'x' amount of FG games in 2012 he may be free to negotiate with other clubs for 2013, but I dont think Bennett's going to jeopardize one of the most important positions in the side for a rookie with half a dozen games experience.

I'm sure he'll get plenty of game time next year barring mediocre performances. The supercoach sees something he likes in him for sure if he had anything to do with this re-signing, and we all do too.

I already had this inside info on Sunday, forgot to blab on here. But I was so happy to hear, great news to have Stig on board for another two. I'm sure Bennett will bring out the potential in him, he's shaping upto be one fine player!
