I meant the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Ten and, yet again, Foxtel have the rights to the Commonwealth Games that year. Nine and Foxtel have the 2010 Winter and 2012 Summer Olympics.
Within a few years, most regional folk will have internet of some sort. And live streams aren't so bad on dial-up...I've done it before.
I am not saying that they cannot get access to the internet, but I listen to 2SM and you should hear the amount of people who call that station from the country who don't have internet & just want the radio so they can listen to the game.
Try telling a 75year old man that he should get the internet so he can listen to the footy.
It should be available on ABC or one of those stations, not just exclusive to those who have net access
I've heard 2HD when they've carried 2SM's programs - terrible. No wonder they rate close to duck egg.

Alright, alright, point taken.
Seriously, the problems associated with coverage lies with the rights holders.
Nine should do the right thing by league fans and air the games live. Pure and simple.
Triple M should do the right thing as well and on-sell their MNF rights to regional stations. The way they're going (Triple M are in the ratings toilet apparently), a bit of extra money might go down well.
To be quite honest, I'm surprised ANYONE listens to 2SM.I've heard 2HD when they've carried 2SM's programs - terrible. No wonder they rate close to duck egg.

Totally agree about triple m and MNF, BTW the talkin' sport (streams live on the net hahahe) program on 2sm every afternoon is pretty good, far better than Sports Today on 2UE.
Most other 2SM programs are pretty poor though.
). I dont really understand all the rights and that, but they run out in 2012 dont they, hopefully 10 makes a bid but i think its unlikely, especially since they show AFL aswell. but i think thats just saturdays and finals, they could easily show footy friday and sundays and maybe the 5.30 game on saturday and the dredded monday night. That'd be awsome, especially if all four are live. You're kidding...
What could Nine have on Saturday night that could be that important to have the RLWC final delayed?![]()
