Centenary Test: Australia v New Zealand @ The SCG

Phil Gould was worse...

Felt sorry for Kurt stuck on the bench for an hour, like he needs to be injected into the game alot earlier.

Credit to the Kiwis though for the good fightback, if only they had decent halves!

If you take away the first 22 mins, it was a pretty good game footy after that.

Gasnier's first try was just freakish!

And Kurt, wish he had come on late in the first half, could have made a good impact.

I reckon it was a little bit risen. 35k and they had heaps of seat behind the goal.

Felt like less... I tell you felt like none during the lap that Joey did. He looked so nervous!

I think Sonny bill should have gotten it to be honest

SBW was definitely NZ's best. His best game for NZ since 2004.

NZ gelled in the second half alright, although the goalline defence in the first 20 was terrible. Definitely makes you wish it was a three match series, a one off test proves nothing. The Kiwis only had two training runs as a full team and it showed in the first half.

People belittling the Kiwis in this thread aren't showing a lot of respect. You'd think with Australia winning so often you would know a bit more about being gracious victors, guess not.

The Aussies have little preparation also, I'm not sure how that would effect the Kiwis more then us tbh.

I guess you have blame it on something though.

I thought my mate little Issac was going to score a great Kiwi try :)

Just short though, I was cheering for him and than Kurt looked to have knocked on and nearly scored!

Bar the first 22mins, then rest of the game the Kiwis were great. And they won that last 58mins, 12-6 too. In saying that they did have some opportunities early on too and werent good enough to convert. The kiwis will take alot out of the last 58mins, im sure they would have a good run in the WC.

I'm not blaming anyone, Australia deserved to win and probably deserved to win by more. Australia had more training runs as a full side though. If it was a full three test series then you would expect the Kiwis to have more improvement in them (similar to what happened during the 2005 and 2006 tri nations).

Yeah, but he has played fullback all year. It was an extremely tough ask for him to come into 5/8 with no training in that position.

What was the point in bringing Webb and Leauluai over ?

In essence they cut the NZ training time down because of how late they decided to fly over, plus, they were absolute rubbish.
