Bradman Best discussion

In most teams the right centre records fewer try involvements and has a worse tackle efficiency %. Most sides attack better on the left than the right. I don’t think the numbers mean much in a vacuum.

I reckon if you had them swap sides, Gagai would have scored + assisted in more tries. Definitely wouldn’t have bombed some of the opportunities Bradman has.

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle with Bradman in terms of how he’s going. I think we don’t utilise him well enough, don’t create enough space for him, but also I don’t think he’s very smart or naturally good at reading the game, so it’s probably at least a little bit his fault. I also suspect he’s taken his eye off the ball a bit with his physical prep - eg, a couple of the times he’s been held up over the line this year beggar belief given his size and strength, and reek of him cutting corners a bit in the gym - I reckon his core strength and leg drive isn’t what it was two years ago and not a coincidence that stuff involves the hardest and most boring part of working out.
I think I've said it since the start of the season, but I'd have loved for us to have kept Gagai on the left where he was one of the top centres in the comp last year ...

But that said his drop off has been a lot more than what you'd see just from switching sides.

Intresting to compare stats to our other centre who is a current origin rep.

BEST 14 games 5 tries 4 try assists 7 line breaks 86.1% tackle efficiency.

GAGAI 17 games 3 tries 3 try assists 4 line breaks 80.7% tackle efficiency
The rep centre that plays for the state that always sticks loyal to players that have done it in the past and also had injuries to their outside backs that forced them to debut 2 guys on the wings?

Gagai wouldn’t of come close to a NSW spot this year and we lost the series!

I would be surprised if any player in our squad has improved his stats over the last three years. Players that look ok to start off with generally end up being pretty average after a few games with us. Leo Thompson, Croker, Clifford all showed some real promise that hasn't materialized. Even Milford looked OK for a few games. Dom Young looks like one of the only players to be progressing but, I think using him as a battering ram is possibly not that smart. I reckon he would be phenomenal in a better well coached team

Joseph sua'ali is doing the same at roosters so think Dom is getting used and doing his job well the way big outside backs do

I think Bradman is probably the closest thing to that game breaking star outside back we've brought through for years. He's a bit dumb, he can't defend and he can't stay on the field but he's also 21-years old and has made some spectacular plays in his short career. If we get rid of him it will be yet another indictment on how bad this club has been managed and coached. The guy needs a proper coach that can help him develop his game as he gets older and utilize him the right way. Imagine him at Melbourne, Roosters or Penrith. If he still can't get his body right in the coming years then fair enough, he'll just be one of those wasted talents ruined by injury, but you can't tell me there's not something there worth working with.

Sua'ali'i gets to touch the ball in the attacking half, so not the same at all.
He is in a better team that gives him opportunity to get the ball I'm sure if Dom had Manu inside of him he would see alot more ball . He would be doing the same thing that he is doing now but just getting the ball to finish off the work that Manu and teddy and walker set up him

Bronson Xerris doping ban is finished November 23, he can join a club September 23....

If Bradman still not working out do you think it's worth a punt taking on Xerri as his replacement?

Was very good player when at the sharks.

Have you seen him recently? He is twice the size he was when he got banned... And in my opinion he is a complete and utter f#ckwit

Is he a f#ckwit because you know him personally or because he was banned?

If we get him cheap might be worth a punt seeing Bradman is always injured and hasn't really set the world on fire.

Yeah I think he has been good for us this season. Still not really bright, but his input has definitely been better.

Agreed he is definitely trying to get more involved and I think he has been better in defence, still seems to get shrugged off more in a tackle then he should for his size.
We still need to try and get both him and Gagai some better ball though and not always go to the back rower or out the back.
