Australia v New Zealand Test - 13 October @ Dairy Farmers Stadium

1. Greg Inglis
2. Akuila Uate
3. Brent Tate
4. Josh Morris
5. Brett Morris
6. Johnathan Thurston
7. Cooper Cronk
8. Paul Gallen
9. Robbie Farah
10. James Tamou
11. Ryan Hoffman
12. Feleti Mateo
13. Luke Lewis
14. Ben Barba
15. Liam Fulton
16. Glenn Stewart
17. Keith Galloway

I don't think Slater's been that great recently, Inglis has outplayed him and had a far better season, Queensland wouldn't have won State of Origin with Slater. I really don't see what the big fuss over Boyd, he's one of the crappiest Fullbacks in the NRL and only scores tries when he has no one in front of him, one of, if not the most overrated player in the NRL. I think Brent Tate's had a great season, great defender and the type Australia needs. Was debating on putting Lawrence at centre instead of Josh Morris but I feel Morris has a better ability to get through holes and playmake a bit more. Brett Morris has the type of fire Australia needs, a great season from him. I think Gallen should be at Prop as to put some variety in the Second Row and Lock position, Gallen could be utilised well with his running at Prop. Farah over Smith was a tough one, I've never been a fan of Smith, I feel Farah has the aggression to make it for Australia. Hoffman's great at finding gaps in the defense, an obvious choice for me. Mateo's been the bright light in a dark season for the Warriors, he's one of the greatest play makers in the forwards, has great vision and can break the line , definitely deserving of a spot. Liam Fulton's had a great season this year, I'm surprised he wasn't in the New South Wales Origin team. Glenn Stewart been good at his offloads and I think he could come on if Australia need a quick try. Keith Galloway is a great underrated forward and easily one of the best in the game.

I thought his defence was pretty solid for the last 10 or so weeks. Outside of someone like Hodges he's fine.

Disagree with Tony Williams, Watmough, Hannant and Boyd. Williams is lazy and had one good game at Origin. He never runs onto the ball, just get it and walks forward, palming someone off before he gets tackled for a gain of a metre. Watmough is useless, haven't seen anything good outta him for a while, to slow to get off the tackle and will give away countless penalties. Hannants a tough one, he hasn't played as good this year as he can and I feel there are other players more worthy. I don't get the fuss over Boyd, he's a crap fullback and only scores when handed the ball on a platter.

Wow, interesting. You've left out some of the world's best players but it's nice to see a change from the easy-to-predict Australian line ups of late.

Williams destroyed his opposition in the 4 Nations last year, he was amazing for us off the bench. The rest is just loyalty, just like QLD, these players know how to win and will keep winning if picked.

It really does have to be up there with the greatest side ever.. The entire team is filled with players which can't really be improved on, not to mention any team looking to beat us will have to score over 50 points lol
Are you kidding? Many of those players could be improved. Williams, Watmough, Hannant and Boyd shouldn't even be in the team. Williams is lazy and had one good game at Origin. Such as? Not asking to be a **** by the way, haha. I like these forums, everyones up for in depth convos.

The best thing is we can be missing several amazing players and the team still isn't effected, the quality of Australia's depth is absolutely amazing.

I disagree. Australia has shown they can cut it very close with New Zealand and lose the big games even with a full strength team. Australia does have a multitude of talented players in that respect, but I can't see Australia beating New Zealand if a quarter of these players got injured.

Anyone wanna have a crack at their predicted nz side??

I'll have a go:

1. Josh Hoffman
2. Jason Nightingale
3. Steve Matai
4. Simon Mannering
5. Krisnan Inu
6. Benji Marshall
7. Kieren Foran
8. Sam Kasiano
9. Isaac Luke
10. Ben Matulino
11. Frank Pritchard
12. Adam Blair
13. Jeremy Smith

14. Lewis Brown
15. Jared Waerea-Hargreaves
16. Alex Glenn
17. Fuifui Moimoi

I think its safe to say Australia have each and every kiwi covered. Ah it's so nice to support such an amazing team. Go the Kangaroos!

I don't think Hoffman's that great, I'd rather Kevin Locke there. I'd replace Mannering with Glenn, I think he's had a great season. I don't think Matai's been that good, extremely dirty player, could lose them the game with a penalty or a send off. I think Beale and Papli could fit somewhere. Maybe Johnson on the bench, depends how he's going.

1. Kevin Locke
2. Dean Whare
3. Shaun Kenny-Dowall
4. Alex Glenn
5. Gerard Beale
6. Benji Marshall
7. Kieran Foran
8. Sam Kasiano
9. Isaac Luke
10. Roy Asotasi
11. Adam Blair
12. Frank Pritchard
13. Greg Eastwood
14. Ben Matulino
15. Fuifui Moimoi
16. Nathan Fien
17. Josh Papali

Boyd I don't think should be considered in the 2 best wingers in Australia, because he's not, he only scores what is handed to him on a platter on the wing. But to say he is crappy fullback is ridiculous. In the second half of the season he set up heaps of tries & made plenty of line breaks. He has vision that not a heap of players in the comp have. Every fullback doesn't need to be a try scoring machine.

I know he doesn't have to be a try scoring machine, but I don't think he's that great at all in any sense. He's only at the Knights because of Bennet. Surely there are better Fullbacks Newcastle could have. I stand by what I said, I don't think he's a good Fullback.

Yes, but that was last year. He's been lackluster this year.

Billy Slater is the best fullback in the world. He's been playing injured but the last few weeks he's quickly getting back to him usual superb form which was evident in Storm's last game. I agree Inglis has been great but why not have both? Why would you take out Slater when you can easily have both in the team? I don't get it. I think Inglis is just as effective in the centres as he is at fullback plus you get to keep the world's best fullback in the side.

We are extremely short on short wingers, I wouldn't say Morris would do a much better job than Boyd and Boyd offers experience and vision that Morris doesn't have. He's performed faultlessly for Australia is the past and he finished this season incredibly well, he deserves to keep his spot, it's the safest option by far.

Leaving out the Australian captain and world's best hooker for Farah... well I don't even know what to say with that lol I don't get that whatsoever. Also I'd still rate Matt Scott as one of the best props going around, his aggression, size and ability to make huge metres makes him a certainty for another starting spot in the side.

I wouldn't be fussed with Hoffman in the side if Lewis hasn't recovered from injury by then. Feleti Mateo in the starting side I just don't get, he can't even make the Blues side, how the hell does he warrant an Australian jersey let alone a starting spot?? If anything he'd come off the bench. You say you don't want Williams in the team but Mateo is by far one of the laziest players I've ever seen and would go a long way to losing it for Australia if he started. How can you say Liam Fulton is better than Watmough/Myles/Williams etc lol another thing I just can't understand, that guy will never ever play rep footy. And Galloway doesn't warrant selection either, he's failed every time he's played rep footy and his form has been below average pretty much all year. Are you a Tigers fan or something mate?

Sheens would never ever be foolish enough to destroy such a legendary team by making changes like this. There's a reason why QLD and Australia are so extremely dominant, the players have a tight bond and they know how to win. Australia will be making minimal changes for a long time and they'll continue to win for a long time. Loyalty goes a long way. These players step up when they put on the green and gold jersey, as long as they're playing decent footy for their clubs I'll always be confident in them when they're playing for Australia.

I didn't say this was Sheens' side I said it was mine. It's my opinion, you may not share it, but it's mine. I feel Fulton and Mateo are loads better than Watmough and Williams. Like I said, I just don't care for Smith. I feel most of the players in the squad are there because of star power, not form, Williams, Watmough and Boyd have shown no promise whatsoever this year, Mateo, Galloway and Fulton are better than them in my opinion. This isn't my predicted team, it's a team I would pick, I like to pick my team based on who I forsee to have had the best form this season. Kevin Locke is injured and won't play. Nathan Fien has retired from internationals.

As for Papalii, it's now beginning to look like Meninga has succeeded in wooing him to Queensland. Kasiano yet to make a decision. With Tamou and Te'o already gone, that could be a record four Kiwis lost in one year to origin ... or as it is looking at being renamed, "Origin, bro".

Lol that's fine, I didn't mean to criticize you or whatever. You said you liked to have in depth convos so I thought I'd give you some thoughts of mine like you gave yours about my team. Don't get so defensive, I completely understand it's YOUR team, obviously. I just don't understand how you think Galloway, Farah, Fulton and Mateo were so much better than the current Aus players.

Nice team, would be really happy with that. Though Lewis and Hodges are unavailable due to injury.

Papalii only became famous after his hits on Paul Gallen like 2 weeks ago. I'd be very surprised if all the attention he's got in the last 2 weeks equates to a position in the top 17 NZ squad.

Yeah I have no idea the hype around Papalii... 2 cheap shots and he's a superstar. Wth. I hope NZ pick him lol

or Maybe Bird?

Thaiday is out too lol Bird is likely to get a spot yeah. I think Myles, Bird, Watmough and G Stewart are the only ones who could start so it'll be out of them you'd think.
