No, Walters is protecting himself and his future prospects as the Australian coach. He is not a risk taker, he would rather stick with the chosen team rather than risk playing the reserve guys in the Australian team, just in case that team were defeated in the third (and dead rubber) test.
Never give a sucker an even break, as the old saying goes.
 
Yeah it’s totally about self preservation, as it usually is. Australia weren’t convincing at all in the last match, so he’ll want a 3-0 sweep.

If they’re being serious they should still win anyway if they put Moses, Best, Preston etc in but he’s obviously not willing to take the risk.
 
Best is obviously a better footballer than Shibasaki. There’s literally no aspect of the game where Shibasaki is better. That being said there’s no reason to change a winning side.
 
Some great players like Best, Moses and Strange not getting a game shows we had to take the poms very seriously to make sure of the 3-0 result.
Bad for Bradman - good for the game.
Bradman trains hard every day at his home gym as part of his daily routine, so it won't be a big deal that he can't train with the team for a while, and he should be pretty fit right now.
The injury to Dom is bad for us, but it might be good for Dom to have a long stay with his family for the first time in years and come back refreshed and ready to train.
 
Cleary's representative football duties won't be over but should definitely be questioned. Munster ran this team around the park while Cleary was looking for Mary in the crowd. Even for NSW he has had a number of shockers. Moses who is getting a bit older now unfortunately has had to miss out because of the love the media give Cleary.
I'm not saying he is a bad footballer, the guy is a freak but whatever reason he just isn't made for representative football.
