Ailaomai suspended for 8 weeks

In my under 16s team (8 years ago) one of our players open palmed the ref in the face, judicary gave him 11 year ban.
 
I know Josh has always been a 'physical player' but that isn't right, should have a good hard look at himself. I'm sure the kid knows he has done wrong.

This is not on, i'm quite surprised that a player with his potential & his great chance of hitting FG next year would risk something like this. Must've been very ****ed, not thinking. JOSH WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!!! :fist:
 
I'm yet to see it, so judging by all your comments you have all seen the footage and are making your judgement from that?

Or are you all just judging for the sake of it?
 
Well i don't think there's really an unjudgmental way about this. He's assaulted a ref, this is just unnaceptable. I hope it is minor because he's one of my favourite junior players.
 
From this thread it says that he striked a ref... In that case no matter which way you look at it's not right
 
I just saw the footage of it, I cant believe its been blown out of proportion like this. While he was running back he grazed the referees arm, it hardly looked intentional and most definitely was not a strike. I was expecting it to be soo much worse after reading that article. If he did do it on purpose then he might get a few weeks but anything more would be ridiculous.
 
Rename the thread... It wasn't near a strike. Just saw it, will still probably get some weeks off. It really wouldn't surprise me.
 
Oh and here I was expecting the ref to be knocked over and everything based on what you're all saying.

This is next to nothing IMO. If he is out for the rest of the year for that it's a disgrace.
 
Ok, wow. I take my comments back. That was nothing. Didn't even look intentional! WTF, just goes to show, never believe reports until you see it for yourself. :fist:
 
Yeah was taken way too far by the media. Had me thinking he went over to the ref & king hit him!
 
yeah here I was thinking that it was a full on elbow hit like you would see in the UFC....that was kinda pathetic really,still a silly thing to have done,but still needs to be punished for it...
 
What a load of crap. Knew it would've been nothing and was getting way overblown for no reason. Doesn't even deserve a 1 week suspension. If that's all the footage they have then they have nothing. Looks to have no intent what so ever.
