Adam O'Brien replacement?

There was an official Knights instagram post going on about how great he is. Combine that with comments and fan accounts, etc and I was thinking the same thing … I hope they’re keeping him focussed and grounded after that game. No Matty Johns Show appearances, either!
I'm going to predict he ends up on the Matty Johns show. Matty gave him a massive wrap before the Dolphins game.

Forgive my ignorance, but what's the go with the Matty Johns Show references? Is it a cursed thing to appear on the show?

By my calculations AOB is now the fifth longest serving coach in the NRL? I think just Bellamy, Cleary, Stuart and Robinson have been at their clubs longer.
He is lucky the posters on here aren’t the ones who decide to retain him or not. He would have be gone long ago if it was up to us.

Finals three out of four years? I’m happy with him for now. Better than constantly swapping coaches around like other clubs (and like us in the past) … the four that have had longer serving coaches are all very stable successful clubs, and I think part of the reason is they don’t panic and sack the coach every five minutes.

Even Penrith did panic a bit. It wasn’t until Cleary was on his second stint at the Panthers that they’ve had that consistency and got rid of Gus lol

I don’t want to sack him now but there have been many times in the past when I wanted him terminated.

I'm still not sold on him. I think we could be a much better team than we are. Having said that, there aren't many better options out there.

Wasn't there a bad drinking culture at the club before AOB got here?
Just in my opinion and I could be wrong on this but I think we look more professional off the feild now then we ever have.

One thing that’s impressed me this year is he’s been quick to change things that can improve the team. The halves situation he perhaps changed a bit too fast, but you could also say Hastings needed a wake up call. Lucas and KPP to starting second row and Frizell to bench forward. Jones onto the bench ahead of some others. Crossland into that middle bench role which is suiting him so well.

Previous years I feel like he’s picked his 17 before the season began and stuck to it no matter what.

The biggest testament to his coaching ability is the amount of players who have improved under his coaching and played their best or most consistent footy under him. There’s a heap of them in our squad as well as a few that have moved elsewhere. He’s done a great job in that area.

Over the last couple of years especially we’ve had guys who never looked like First Graders eg Crossland, Jones, Gamble previously are now playing important roles in our squad. Obi deserves plenty of credit for that.

Was only thinking about how many good looking jrs we have. Now to get consistent Saf domination!

Yes, I agree with this, but do not underestimate the influence that assistant coach and Englishman Brian McDermont has/is having, as well as Blake Green.

Absolutely. Was just mentioning Green on the other forum. He did a great job with our attack last year and McDermott’s resume and how the players talk about him speaks for itself.
