Adam O'Brien replacement?

So the 10 game run they were going above and beyond and now they decided we don't respect the coach
🤷🏼‍♂️ You tell me? It’s like we all stepped into a parallel universe in the off season and none of that ever even happened. Reading about what’s been happening at training paints it all in a really poor light and if it’s true, (no reason to believe otherwise) then the coach has lost the playing group.

Honestly the 10 game run means Jack **** now. That was last season with a somewhat different squad and it counts for nothing going forwards.

Or maybe its a certain someone in the squad that was dropped earlier this season and then decided to have a punch-up with a team mate? I mean he has history with that sort of behaviour at other clubs.

Point I'm making is that everyone seems to blame the coach and say he has lost the dressing room, but what if players dont want to play with a certain person because they have no respect for him?

Then maybe the coach should address it! It’s his ****ing job

There's only so much the coach can do, he probably has addressed it and it could appear to be all dead a buried but you never know deep down how players feel.

Anyway, this argument is pointless.....we are dead and buried without Ponga LOL

If nothing else he clearly does a better job of balancing the books 👀

Somehow they can have a spine of Hughes, Grant, Munster and Papi, meanwhile we’ve got KP and a bunch of players we’d probably have to pay other teams to take off our hands.
I’m sure part of balancing the books is not paying over the odds for props who deliver next to no go forward and are lazy in their defence.

Exactly but the fact that nothing is done about it is the most infuriating part thing.

How is the answer to poor performances promoting DSaf to the starting side?

What kind of message does that send everyone else. Especially the halves you keep dropping. How does that not breed resentment and poor attitude amongst the players that are putting in?

Safs need a good dropping!

I can say one thing about AOB from conversations with players. A’lot of the guys are intimidated by him he isn’t pleasant and comfortable to be around at times feeling like you’re on edge when you are around him.
I’ve had a bit to do with him I find him direct and honest also I remember last year him cleaning up the tables after the players trying to set a standard and all the players walking away leaving the coach to do it.

Yeah I don't buy the 'you can't drop DSaf because there is no one better' angle. I'd rather make a statement on expectations, regardless of the name or pay packet.

I'm not defending Jackson's performances, but he probably is a bit miffed when he gets dropped and yet DSaf gets picked every week despite phoning it in.

This season is as good as done. May as well start building the foundations for next year - maybe then it won't be a complete waste of everyone's time.

The one area where I’ll defend Jackson is that the leg injuries have clearly mucked with his confidence and with his kicking game, the latter thing being, while he’s not known for having a massive boot, a pretty core part of his package as a footballer. With that gone and with his runners never coming onto the ball with intent, where is he as a player? A slow organising halfback who can’t kick moving the ball to non-existent attacking & physical threats…

It remains to be seen how much of the clearly not great atmosphere at the club is his fault, but if he’s not to blame for it I think he’s been very very unlucky rather than the cause of things going wrong. Two compound fractures in two years and a random unrelated nerve infection resulting in permanent nerve damage is horrific luck.

Why do you think they’d do that? Are they being disrespectful to him, being typical teenage boys and being lazy, sense of entitlement, or he just does that stuff and doesn’t hold people to account?

I hear that and think it’s great that AOB wouldn’t expect everyone to clean up after the mess they’ve made, but little things like that he should be holding them to account. “OI get back here and clean your s*** up!”

Sure, I'd rather have him come in with a mandate to weed out the rabble, put players on notice they either perform or they can go.

A fire and brimstone approach is what is needed and the club need to support this happening.

Attitude is appauling in the club, standards are allowed to be low, and infact rewarded.

I'd rather blow the place up and start again and if that is Madge I'm all for it.

My fear is Morris comes in, can't change the place either and e go through more of the same.

There is something very wrong at the Knights. Players come here with promise and become mediocre, juniors come through and can't stick at NRL level, coaches come in and the stink continues.

I believe this is because the Knights are a club away from expectation, we have a fanbase that turns up and supports no matter what, you don't see signs held up at our games ridiculing anything, or calling for coach sacking, we just keep turning up. Secondly, we are insulated from the heavy scrutiny that other clubs get being away from Sydney. Both of those add together to make just turnig up ok.

Ther is no hunger here, no drive, no pasion. I keep hearing complete and utter bullsh!t from OB about how much the players want to perform and play for the home crowd. It's rubbish, they don't care about the home crowd or they would show it in their performances. They don't.

There is also the BS about how the players are ready to perform, had a good week etc, just want to go out and show what they can do etc etc from OB. doesn't happen.

This clubs needs a big change moving forward, a gould style going through from top to bottom.

I hate to say it but, I can't believe what Bennett has done with the Dolphins in one year. They actually look like an NRL team as opposed to our rabble.
Yes, but is it Bennett?
Bennett didn’t go to Darwin so the assistant Wolfe was in charge. And look how the injury hit Dolphins performed.
Wolfe is a very good assistant coach with a long record of success and will take over from old Wayne from next season.

Old Wayne didn’t have the cattle here and as I have said before, Wayne is a good coach of very good players, but is an also-ran with average players and ne can’t do what Bellamy does with average players.
