Basic maths would tell you that 4 Is greater than 1 and that's what I think the Knights board looked at the most.

I don't begrudge the Knights for signing him, best credentialed assistant coach at the time. Only red flag was he had never coached his own team.

All jokes aside, your 100% right.

At the time I felt dudded that we didn't get Shaun Wane but when we made the finals In his first year I said to myself we can definitely build off this.

Fast forward to now and he Is on shaky ground as It Is, I don't doubt AOB's credentials or his coaching ability believe or not.

I just think he hasn't got what It takes to get guys to the next level where they are playing eyes up footy.

I'll be watching with a very keen Interest Cameron Ciraldo this year and will make judgement on him In his second year as a coach.

I think he will do better than AOB because he has Gus behind him.
 
The culture at the club is horrible and no matter who is the coach we will have the same issues.

I mentioned towards the end of the season that certain players weren't happy that AOB was trying his hardest to change the culture and the mentality of some players who walk around town thinking they are king ****.

Not defending AOB here but if you have players that are reluctant to change then you are fighting an uphill battle no matter what.
 
If the players are thinking they are king …… then after three years they should be aware of them and pull them in line, put doubts on new contract, let them go, no point in paying big to huge money if not performing or fitting in with expected culture.
Us non local Knights are not aware of what goes on around town or the attitude of some that might be effecting over team harmony, effort and success.

Shaun Wane with Brian McDermott as his assistant coach??? I'd be very happy with that.

It would definitely put some Malcolm Reilly (OBE) type starch back in our troops.

Interesting & easily remiss fact, with Reilly, his record with us was 62W 3D 33L. That's pretty damned good! Admittedly he had good troops but embarrassingly we also have had good troops (on paper) for a few years now and we're getting worse.

Well it matches the list of English elegible players in the roster,
Dom Young, Hodgson, Pryce, KPP,
Hastings (rumoured).
Might aswell sign Radley, Farnworth and Jack Welsby to top it off.
 
Well this season will be make or break for AOB. If he’s successful that will flow onto to players wanting to stay and recruitments.

I think on paper we still have a good side that will be better than the bottom 8. If we get in and around there we can build to 24.

Keeping the majority of the team stays fit he has no excuses. He has the half, and has made the call with Ponga.

Speaking of those bottom 8 I’m interested to see how the dogs and tigers go. They should improve with recruitment, and both having new coach’s.

I can’t see Dragons, warriors, titans going that well.

I really like that word “committed”. We seem to have some players with that, but we also have( and had) some holiday campers over the last couple of decades.
Nathan Brown shifted many of these holiday campers along during his period as coach. Junior pathways, energetic defence and analytical recruitment and retention are our priority areas for improvement.

I think they have had a clear plan with what has been recruited this year. I think they have set out to add some real grit to the squad on purpose. Time will tell I guess. The area I still think we lack is leadership.

Couldn't agree more. It's hard to know what you've been missing until you get it. Hastings will be a massive boost for boys. Theres just no substitute for a vocal 300 game type of leader in the spine. But Hastings is a start.
