The part where he won a premiership, do we include that? Or are you simply referring to his players using Peptides? Something which many NRL players were doing at the time and still do today.

I love when noobs buy into media hype and drama but have no idea how causally SARMS and Peptides have been used by a vast majority of NRL players over the last 10 years. The difference between that and what Cronulla did was that Cronulla institutionalised it by having a team doctor administer it, as opposed to players doing it at home which is how it is done 99% of the time.

If people hate Flanagan for 'cheating' then I'm assuming these same people would reject Bellamy for cheating, too?

it always amazes me how young guys who are skillful but not big enough somehow put on 10kg over an offseason. Amazing what good diet and creatine can do in 12 weeks hey

They ate all their potatoes and just went hard on the protein shake, obviously.

Anyone who has any exposure whatsoever to NRL players know that almost all these blokes use SARMS and Peptides for off season bulking and cutting and during the season for injury repair. And Im sure heaps of lads use them for performance during the season, too, just nowhere near as many because of the risk of being caught. But even then, you have to be unlucky enough to be the subject of a targeted test from ASADA, which is very rare and is typically an indication that someone has dobbed them in.

There is a difference between Flanagan and Bellamy.
Flanagan just didn’t listen when told not to have contact with players or officials when he was “banned”, but stupidly broke the rule with contact of both and in abundance.
And why was he banned from coaching NRL sides for 2 years?
I think his history is a large reason for him not getting another head coach appointment.

I agree with you on the SARMS/Peptides thing but the problem is that he was dumb enough to get caught doing the wrong thing multiple times.

Appears to be a very slow-learner on that front and the Knights/Wests coudn't really afford him getting caught doing dumb stuff again.
 
It's like we're desperate for a root. Two or three years ago, everyone on this forum would have unanimously said no to having Flanagan here because he's just a ****ty person for the things he tried to get away with. But now we're desperate, we start blinding ourselves, hey he won a premiership, he seems hard nosed, get him in.. truthfully I don't know who is the best option for us, all I know is we're all getting more desperate with time.

I was calling for Shaun Wanes *** from the get go.

Flanno was definitely a solid second for me, regardless of the history the guy can coach.

But In the end we got ourselves a guy that has been In 4 Grand Finals, Flanno had only been In 1 as far as I'm aware.

Basic maths would tell you that 4 Is greater than 1 and that's what I think the Knights board looked at the most.
