Adam O'Brien replacement?

Des Hasler comes across as so stupid he'd need someone to dress him in the morning.

Every year he starts off with a roster that looks like the cast of Pirates of the Caribbean - wooden legs and all - and turns them into a competitive football team.
He'd challenge for a title with our roster, but we'd never know how he did it because you can't understand a word he says.

I reckon it’s all put on to lull people into a false sense of security, bloke looks like he is lost in his own house but he’s so with it actually

Meh. Good but not great player running downhill in a team that ground the opposition into dust physically but never scored as many points as you’d expect given their physical dominance. So how good was he really?

Carney was def en fuego that year though.

"Facetious" Is the word that comes to mind when I ever hear the name "Des Hasler" 🤣 🤣 🤣
 
To continually put Tuala in as centre week after week and watch him make the same defensive errors week after week is a sign that AOB is clueless. Either fix up his defensive issues or drop him.
 
Need to bite bullet get rid of obrien appoint new coach either Woolfe or ciraldo give them a chance to put there spin on squad for next year if the new coach gets players playing to there potential we only a good half/centre/back rower away from being a finals threat again
 
OB to me seems like a coach that babies players along. By that I mean he sees the effort areas we need to get better at, but it's all point at it and say we need to be better there, do you understand and then sit back and see what happens. More how a parent deals with a child than how a boss deals with an employee. There seems to be little if any demand that a player does put in 100% effort or else!

It needs to be more boss dealing with employee and less parent coddling.

Look I've been vocal about not just punting OB because he isn't moving us forward, only to replace him with next man up whoever that is and see how they go. I'm not against punting him necessarily, just want the right coach to come in and not just fire him and then see what we get.

We need a coach that is hard line and will make players accountable for their own performance first. Then, off the back of that individual focus, build something as a team! The players need to have it instilled in them that the lazy, half effort rubbish we seem to witness on the weekly is over. Either put in 100% or go. And be prepared to see that back of some players no matter their salary.

I'd rather watch a bunch of average footy players giving their best, than some better quality players phoning it in.

Why the unproven coaches? We did that and he turned out to be a massive flop.

Flanagan is the type of coach we need.

Who knows. I'm not about to treat the news as gospel coming from a 16 posts in 5 months on here member. No offence to the poster.

Anybody can look at how our squad is performing and say OB has lost the dressing room.

May or may no be true. Along with a great many other things.
 
There are enough objective criticisms of AOB/Team performance to assess before we need to start putting stock in claims from the always reliable source of someones mums cousins dogwalkers mistress.

I have been hesitant to say we should move him on, but I agree with the above, and the reaction from him in the press conference was really disappointing. Yes we had injuries throughout the game … but it’s those little moments where we mentally crumble, and AOB was giving them every excuse after the game.

Look at Queensland losing two players within the first five minutes on Wednesday, even if they’d gone on to lose that match, they weren’t letting it affect them!

We just got flogged by 30 points, in no way is that an acceptable result, but AOB barely seemed bothered. Just shows that these results have become then norm … because last night was also about as close to full strength as we’ll be all season.

Regardless if the poster was right or wrong about AOB losing the dressing room it doesn't change my opinion that he needs to be let go now.

We clearly have gone backwards, it's always excuses in the press conferences as he genuinely looks lost and has no idea how to fix the issues.
 
Look at risk of being dismissed as a “my mate’s friend’s missus knows Hymel Hunt’s missus and he said that she said that she said that he said” guy… I’ve heard some things third hand about AOB’s methods which just have me so convinced this team can never be properly good under him. Like the rigid, dull, eyes down yardage sets are the team playing exactly as coached, the laborious backline sweeps are the team playing exactly as coached, the forwards getting so gassed at the back end of games is 100% on how he has them playing rather than poor conditioning or laziness, etc.

Like I could not be more convinced we’d straight up be better off with some passion merchant who doesn’t do a lot more than just shout “let’s ****in smash these ****s” before the game starts.

He was always very rigid and conservative but Pearcey was his favourite player and he put a lot of trust in him to execute the game plan. He doesn’t have that trust in anyone on the roster now so yeah, the takes that the players are coached like they’re children who don’t know what they’re doing rather than pro athletes who’ve played this sport for years? Dead on.

Brailey has to be that person, spent 2 years in the coaches box with him more or less.
