2026 Season

How good to see the crowd on the field. When I was a kid going to cricket games, sprinting out onto the field at the end of an international was probably the best thing about the day, trying to give a player a pat on the back as they left the field.

I find it so sad we’ve lost that, and everything is so homogenised now.

Amazing to see everyone get out there yesterday, one of the best moments in the NRL in years. And a brilliant achievement by Johnston to get there, it would be one thing to play a billion games and break the record that way, but to do it at his strike rate, barely playing any more than Irvine, and the best in the modern era, is just incredible.

I think it was Jake Duke who usually does a pretty good job on the sideline, might even have been his first go at commentary. I didn't think he was too bad, and they didn't help him by pairing him with Ennis.

Eh never got the fuss with Jake Duke, about as mediocre as the rest of them there. Replace him with a cardboard cutout and you wouldn’t know the difference, such is his bland personality

Probably was because it was his first time but everything just felt forced. Seemed like fake emotion and over the top commentary on trivial things

The best part is he broke the record against the Roosters

It’ll forever show Alex Johnston at Souths setting the try scoring record against their arch enemy…. Priceless
Yeah aside from Souths losing, they couldn’t have scripted it better. If it happened last it wouldn’t have been as good.

Full house at Allianz, against their arch rivals (with even Roosters fans flooding the field, and it was also a great try not just a catch and fall.

That vision will be played long after he’s retired and it’s something everyone will remember.

AJ nor the NRL could’ve hoped for much better.

Not for mine, many stop and refs have let it go before, the rules never state you can’t stop it just says you can’t tackle or interrupt the play, which Kai didn’t

The Tigers shouldn’t have the ball, around 24:40 to go a tiger jumps for the ball and slaps his arm in front of the cowboy…

Thought you couldn’t do that anymore
