Yeah agree on both parts, have a feeling his team wants a multi year deal, hence the hell no. But still hell no in any other scenario as well.
 
He already turned down a top 30 deal at Manly because he refused to play for the minimum salary, now he’s turning down a train and trial contract because it’s not a top 30 deal. Seems like the market is telling him exactly what he's worth at this point and he won't accept it. Hard to see the offers suddenly getting better.
 
My bet is Lodge is holding out for some club to pick him up after an injury on something like a two-year deal on decent money.

Yeah I’d much rather bring someone from within through than sign Mulitalo. We’re actually good at developing outside backs and already need to find spots for a few people so I’d prefer us save the money for a position we actually need.

My bet is he still buys into the hype around him from 5+ years ago and has an overinflated ego. Still expects big money despite being bog average on a good day.

I hope he goes to the ESL or ends up in a 2nd tier feeder team.

It sounds like there's some dealing going on in the background to get Mulitalo to the Broncos possibly on a swap deal for Selwyn Cobbo or Staggs who are off contract.

So I can't see the Knights in the race here even if we were in the market for a winger which I doubt would be our priority rn.
 
All three are off contract, no need for the clubs to get involved with where they land if they don't resign them. I notice too that Grant Anderson has signed with the Broncos, that makes the Staggs/Cobbo thing more interesting.
 
Yes my bad, I think the initial report was it was the Sharks doing the shopping but according to the report above it's Ronaldo's management so it's about 2026 and that would mean the Knights could make a play. Reports today that Madge is happy with Selwyn and Katoni and wants to keep them both.

He might be happy too, but they need to get hunts money from somewhere.
 
Oh we shouldn’t even look at him.

We just opted out of overpaying a prop, a way more important position, because we need a damn halfback. Everything else is of lower importance.

I would much rather Cobbo and/ or Staggs in my team any day, based on sheer power in attack and better players defensively. Ronaldo, like many paper bag “tough”guys run in with threats(like Ennis, Mahoney, Cody Walker) who are all p… & wind and dog it when someone stands up to them.
There is no place for this type of player in my team, simply because they are embarrassing.

Granted I fully agree he is no defensive god but he does have a better efficiency than Marzhew

Ronaldo - 76.86
Marzhew - 74.55

He also eats him alive for tries while averaging less meters but still a great amount he averaged 140+ meters a game, not to mention he is more athletic and agile than Marzhew because he isn’t carrying a house on his legs 🤣🤣🤣 he is also quicker than Marzhew by a mile and possess a pretty deadly fake in and out step.

But we clearly don’t need him so my points are meaningless 🤣🤣

Again, Marzhew does much more for the Knights than Ronaldo does for the Sharks, and Marzhew doesn’t have to be a f…wit and run in to start a fight during games.
Just as an aside, I wouldn’t want to be Ronaldo if he ran in at Marzhew to try his paper bag “tough” guy rubbish!
