2025 Recruitment And Retention

Not Croker. He's a decent player and I like watching him play. Tuala is now surplus, is Croker?
I suppose with Lucas being awesome and Jones on the rise along with Hopgood and the other youngins, something had to give
 
Is there a reason for Croker leaving?? I know he isn't getting the game time he probably wants but he is a really big part of the team and club

His only on about 300k a year. He’d be asking for a bit more now his getting more game time. I also think they’re just clearing the decks to bring in some juniors.

Enari was always going to leave this season. He is a super league standard winger.
 
The Dogs have been a top two defensive team this season. If they think Crokes provides value maybe that should tell us something.

I don’t know the money involved, if it’s a fair pay packet good luck to him. But to be competitive you need a handful of guys sitting just outside your best 17 that you can trust to do a job and I think we let too many guys like that go.
 
Paul Bryan seems a very similar player to Matt Croker IMO. Although he doesn't have the same playmaking skills - just an honest and pretty mobile prop who may end up a bit bigger and harder running that Crokes by next year.
 
Would have liked for us to have kept Croker but not surprised he's leaving.

Probably a hot take but I think he's one of those players better starting than coming off the bench and would have tried him at lock from his ball playing skills.

Yeah I'd say that'd be the thinking. Clearing the decks to make space for the next generation. Croker is decent and likely to become a dependable first-grader the more he plays, but he's off-contract in a rebuilding phase and not a must keep.
 
Harry Croker has had a pretty good year in the Qld cup. He's listed on the Titans website as one of their reserve graders.

I would need to see DSaf having a real red hot go before even considering his retention. Watched him closely on the weekend and he hung around behind the play, watching Marx and our other forwards put in the hard yards.
He has shown some improvement since being tapped, but Thompson and JSaf offer so much more.

Yes, he was a good link player and defender.
We got as much as our coach could get out of him, but Ciraldo has got some more this year. Will he be available for finals?
He sustained a fairly decent injury I thought.
