2025 pre season thread

Looks like Paul Bryan spent the off season doing bodybuilding

I've noticed the props who go on to make grade are he ones with big motors.
Hopwood is 18 and already playing huge minutes and never stops working.
Carmichael is the same age I think and looks just like Hopwood, but only for 20 minutes off the bench.
Not saying Carmichael won't develop a big motor - it took Korbin Sims till he was 20 to start playing big minutes - but the thing that has everyone excited about Hopwood is things like he only needed a 5 minute break in the schoolboys game v PNG, while all the other middles did half his minutes.
Yeah a good point and it’s why Hopwood is looking at a spot in the 17 by round 1. Carmichael should get huge confidence from being selected to do a Pre Season. He still has Hilliar, Bryan, Sua well ahead of him. Though lots can change. I have high hopes in him.

The whole easy/tough narrative changes each year. We play bottom 8 15 times apparently but there was some big teams in that bottom
8. Could easily be difficult and top 8 teams a little easier.

No doubt we need big improvement though, which I have confidence in them doing. Some serious talent coming through this team l, even if we go with Cogs and Gamble/Pryce. Team been together long enough to make it work. Compete at a high percentage and we’ll win majority of games.

It's early doors, but I honestly think that a Hastings/Cogger at 7 and Pryce at 6 is our best option for this year. Most strike we are gonna get from our spine is with Pryce at 6 IMO, hopefully a full pre season helps him reach his potential and get that consistency. Ponga obviously at 1, Brails at 9 and Crossland killing it at 14 as usual. Gamble sitting in the wings to play anywhere he can if injuries happen.

Spine includes KP, so best strike is getting him ball
At the right time and halves finding centres and backrow with good shape and good kicking games.

I always state that with someone like KP at your back all you. Need is to feed it to him with an advantage brewing and he’ll 9/10 make the play.

Having Lucas, Best, Gagai , no Sharpe as options is just a bonus.

Hey guys,
Haven’t been on here for a while,
I am now a year 12 student completing a Personal interest project on the perceptions and attitudes towards female in professional sport, (bit relevant for this forum) and would love input from everyone! The questionnaire is anonymous and should only take a few moments. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated, if you would like to complete the survey just click the google docs link below and click submit when all questions are answered!
Thankyou so much!!
