2022 Knights Recruitment & Retention Thread

Can someone point out to me what Klemmer is doing wrong? Always leads the team in metres & hitups and rarely misses a tackle.
I don’t get what more people want from him?
Assuming he knocked back the leadership because he doesn’t give a crap is a wild assumption, unless you’ve actually been told this happened ?

His not doing anything "wrong" so to speak he is just lacking a bit of the mongrel he used to bring. In my eyes anyway.

I’ve heard this before, it one of those damned if you do damned if you don’t scenarios. He was pretty fiery against Saints and gave away dumb penalties.

James Fisher-Harris has toned his aggression down, you never see him sprint out of the line going for big hits any more. In turn he’s cut down his missed tackles and puts out insane numbers every week.

I feel Klem is being crucified for what JFH is being praised for. Just my opinion

If Klemmer was doing what JFH was doing we’d have won more games. Way more impact on both sides of the ball.

I'm talking a bit more mongrel in tackles and hit ups. I'm wanting him to create a bit more rather then playing the I'm a dumb front rower I'll just tuck it under and run card.

He's a bit of a momentum killer for me, gets put on his back a lot, rarely passes, slow play the ball.

fill the team with locals! blokes for whom playing for the Knights actually means something...i don't care if they're not fancy or flash just as long as they have a bloody go each week!

Dylan Lucas, not a local but a fan who drove from Woollongong and knocked the door down for a chance, is one I'd be giving a go sooner rather than later. All effort in reggies. Can play right centre. Matt Croker another that deserves a go on effort.

Don't think he's doing anything wrong but he is a victim of the game changes that dictate a different physique is more in vogue...said in another thread he seems to have dropped 10 kgs from his frame, which still sees him churn out good stats but it's more easily controlled and not actually 'bending the line' impact that creates 6 again restarts from players hanging on too long. I think his biggest issue is that he has become very one-dimensional and that makes it easy for oppositions to put a strategy in place to control him and nullify the impact he has on creating opportunities in a game.

What a Jersey Flegg side this would be - best in our history.

1 Bailey Hodgson
2 Starford Toa
3 Dom Young
4 Brad Best
5 Dylan Lucas
6 Simi Sasagi
7 Pheonix Crossland
8 Garrett Smith
9 Liam Wilkinson
10 Jaron Purcell
11 Cooper Jenkins
12 Harry Croker
13 Christian Ma'amania

14 Mitch Black
15 Chris Veaila
16 Zane Camroux
17 Jacob Kiraz
18 Max Buderus
19 Dan Ticehurst
20 Pat Achurch
21 Tevita Toloi
22 Noah Naigolivia

Still, we'd be better off not developing those guys and seeing if we could find a 32 year old centre who was good a few years ago to "improve" our roster.

He does seem to have abruptly forgotten that he’s allowed to pass the ball though weirdly.

This is what we on the Internet like to call a “straw man argument”.
