2022 Jersey Flegg

The team list has him at 5/8, but the whole updates thing is riddled with errors
Was definitely in the centres. Was the best player in the field. Strong on both sides of the ball.
The bloke in the 4 had abit of Bradman Best about him aswell.

We go to equal 1st on the Flegg table, but everyone else still has to play.
The table is so congested we could end up anywhere from 1st to 9th after the round is completed.

Mapapalagi was wasted at centre but looked class every time he touched the ball. Would've loved to see him play 6.

Surprised David Armstrong didn't blow away in the wind. He has plenty of filling out to do if he's ever going to survive in first grade. Did look dangerous in attack at times.

Purcell was impressive.

Some odd selections.
Harry Croker in the centres for the first time ever I think. He has some ball skills, so maybe not so silly.
The giant Kiwi winger is out and a few wingers from the local comp are in.
Lachlan Williams got 10 minutes in reserve grade last week - presumably because he was the only prop at the club who hadn't played already, and this week he's back to second reserve for Flegg. I think he's a year young for Flegg, so last week was tough on him.

1650084162505.png1650084162505.png Great win as well by Flegg. Was very back and fourth until second half Knights got a couple back to back.
Lemalama has crossed a few times in past coupe weeks and after a few games David Armstrong appeared to have a strong game too.

Puts Knights outright 3rd. Look forward to the highlights

I see Cal Burgess played instead of Cooper Jenkins.
Mapalangi replaced as goal kicker after missing a few and Tom Cant is our guy.
Seems funny that we started the year with ace goal kickers Max Buderus and Logan Radjevic fighting over who would kick over 80% the best, and now we've got a second rower kicking who I cant remember ever kicking before.

Halves seems to swap and change in Flegg. One area Knights haven't scouted well in quite a while. Losing Madden definitely sucked.

Garth Brennan has made a lot of interesting calls in Ball, Flegg and Reserves.
Letting Camroux, Ma'amania, Toa and Kiraz go - all high profile imports we have given firstgrade off seasons to.
Bringing in Pythian, Wyatt Shaw, Noah Ryan, Lemalama, Cal Burgess, Cooper Jenkins, Max Buderus, Liam Wilkinson and even Heath Gibbs from the local comp - all guys that seem to be getting better every game.
Moving guys around like Harry Croker played centre today for the first time ever, Cooper Jenkins has gone from athletic second rower to prop, Dylan Lucas played second row today - he's faster than half our backs and as an ex half he has playmaking and even kicking skills. If he goes OK in the forwards he could make a great lock.
In Ball he lets "Nagsy" (Noah Naigolivia) have his head and run when he likes and switch the play when he feels it - and he nearly always gets it right.

Lower grades are a wild ride this year - there is some weird and unexpected selection every week. Harry Croker in the centres is something that has never even occurred to me as a chance.

I would have rather kept Toa or Kiraz over keeping Musgrove. But i'm guessing they're contracts were worth more to make some $$. Plus with Lee coming back wing pos is covered pretty damn well in Dom, Enari, Lee, & Hunt. Was very surprised Ma'amania was shifted, as he only got resigned for 3 years the yr earlier. Must not have been a good trainer or personal request maybe.

Been impressed with FLegg and Sg Ball's performances, just frustrating being unable to see them play each week to get a good gauge. The players you mentioned though do seem to do well each week. Really wish the club would bring back the "rookie wrap" we're they'd interview the coaches of respective teams and give their pro's and con's of performances.

Don;t know much about young Croker or Jenkins. Lucas is exciting, we need good back up Centres, but I can see why they'd be giving him a good go at backrow, as there is clearly and easier line to potential 1st there then centre with Best and Gags. Definitely strong enough, Very fast if he learns good line running, always comes down to how good his Defence would be over 80mins.

Don;t know a lot about Noah either, but seems to have been around for a good few years

Interesting matchup this week. Jonah Pezet is the half for Melbourne and lines up against Noah Ryan, who was his halves partner in the Knights Mathews side in 2018 and Mitch Henderson who was his halves partner in the Knights Mathews side in 2019.
