2022 Jersey Flegg

Really wish they'd give some of the more promising guys from 20's a run in reserves the last month so they can get some experience playing against men. Not that interested in the club winning a 20's comp as I am developing the best guys to be able to fill in next year
8 of this weeks team have played reserves this year and another 5 or 6 others I think.

yeh I know I mean more game time to finish the year. There's plenty of dead wood in reserves that we're wasting game time on imo
Most of these kids started off the year in Ball - guys like Ferguson and Martin were a year young for Ball and are 3 years young for Flegg

They are tomorrow

So we have used 45 players in Flegg this year. 12 of them played in Ball this year.
Many players have played several different positions.
Despite it being a real development year, with new players and new positions nearly every game and us using some very young players, we are on second position on the ladder with a 4 point break over the 3rd placed side.

Roosters lost their second game in 4 weeks, meaning we are now 4 points behind them.
Next weeks, 1st V 2nd Roosters V Knights game suddenly got interesting.
If we knock them over next week it's still possible for us to get the minor premiership, although very unlikely because their for and against is way out of touch, so they'd have to lose their last 2 games as well.

Jersey Flegg highlights - knights start on 4.00
The length of the field try by Ethan Ferguson made Melbourne look bad. He seemed to be going hard for the first 30 metres till he pulled clear, and then he looked to be jogging from about halfway.
The length of the field try by Riley Jones was cheeky - playing hooker, took the ball from the base of the scrum near our line and just ran straight through their defence line and no one got near him after that.

Strong side named.
Purcell and Mapapalangi named.

Many, many changes from the side that was flogged by the Roosters in round 1.
Roosters have also made a lot of changes.

Are we likely to keep picking best Flegg side now until seasons end to make a strong effort to win comp or do we think some players will end up in Cup side for experience.
I hope we go for winning comp

Winning the comp would be great, but I think the best thing to win in Flegg is the minor premiership.
If you look back at minor premiership winning sides in Flegg, nearly half the players end up playing firstgrade.
We are doing really well to come second, and I've no doubt we have some future firstgraders, but the Roosters seem a step above and a heap of their players will step up.
The worst part of that is the Roosters have basically taken over the central coast and a heap of those juniors would have been Knights in previous years I think.

Only change for the Knights is Tevita Toloi will start at prop and Greacen goes to the bench.
