2022-2023 Summer of Cricket

Smith and Marnus have not stood up against the Indians. Khawaja has been inconsistent. Head looked good but didn’t last. Renshaw has been really disappointing.

Australia are getting a major reality check.

Last night they were half decent and looking like putting a respectable score together.
Then today go down like flies in an hour and a half.

The Aussies have played a lot of bad shots today. The cross bat shots were too risky on a pitch that was keeping low.

Losing 9/53 is shocking. The tream needs to have a hard look at themselves.

Out of consideration for James we will not talk about the test match which has just ended in the land to the east of Australia.
Out of consideration for my mental well-being can we not talk about the test match currently being played in that far flung city that straddles the Yamuna River?

My Australian 3rd test team:

1 Khawaja (VC)
2 Head
3 Marnus
4 Smith (C)
5 Handscomb
6 Green (declared 100% fit)
7 Carey
8 Starc (expected to be fit)
9 Lyon
10 Murphy
11 Kuhnemann

Cummins bowling has lacked penetration and Starc‘s will create footmarks for the Offies to bowl into and his batting is better.

Hazelwood is out of the rest of the tour.

only way starc plays is if we play 2 pacers, cant see cummins sitting himself out. but that team looks better to me also.

Green is the other fast bowler, he has a good bouncer. With 3 frontline spinners in the team, he would not need to bowl that many overs.

I picked the fast bowler on form, Cummins bowling has lacked penetration and Starc is a much better batter. Cummins has family issues and has returned home, he could probably do with a longer break.

oh i agree with your lineup, im more saying theres no chance cummins doesnt play (providing everything woth his return home is sorted, he is expected to go back to india).
so for starc to play we would see green cummins and starc, which im not sure will happen. id also love to see smith back in charge.

I think NZ may have cracked the way to combat Bazball … because England scores so fast, if you bat time then they’ll be bowling for like 75% of the game. Do this over a five match series and their bowlers will be destroyed.

Thank me later, Australia. 😂

Good idea James!

Hoping common sense in selection, cannot go into test with Starc and Green as our fast bowlers, both returning from injury, fitness doubt due to injured hand, Starcs bowling hand, play another pace man, two spinners plus Head, Labers.

It looks as though Starc and Green will be the only paceman, the selectors must be confident Starc and Green are fit enough.

Wow, what a test match that was between NZ and England!!!

Fourth test won after following on, and the second test to be won by one run! 😱

Amazing comeback I gotta say.

Incredible result! Just the second 1 run winning margin in test history! And only the fourth side to win a test match after following on. A huge result by the Kiwis!

Bad start by Australia, get 2 reviews wrong in the first over.

Starc is bowling well considering his recovering from a finger injury. Australia look some much better with him back in the team.

Australia are giving India a scare having them at 3/36 but I sense it is just a matter of time before India take control of the game.

The pitch is obviously a big turner, I’m not looking forward to Australia batting on it, especially having to bat last.
