2020 Top 30 Squad

Surely if we had the choice of Ese’ese or King it would be Ese’ese. Guerra is almost past it, Jones hasn’t played firsts despite our poor past seasons. Moga could be good but injury worry and new signings make him doubtful. Have no problems with signing Watson and Jacob and Lino is fringe player but need to find someone to replace him. TRD still don’t understand his signing and like I said before Randall, Huth and Croker are young so let’s wait and see.
Get rid of 5 sign 1 or 2, 5/8 and 2nd row and develop and encourage the juniors.

Herman Ese'ese
Aidan Guerra
Brodie Jones
Josh King
Mason Lino
Tautau Moga
Jacob Saifiti
Connor Watson
Tyronne Roberts-Davis
Chris Randall
Luke Huth?
Matt Croker?

Herman and Aidan is seriously close to a million. I like them both, but if the Titans are offering $500k for Herman, soz fella. Aidan has been brilliant for us, but again, thanks and goodbye. I like Brodie and hope that he has a massive year, but he must be on last chance saloon. Josh King should stay for depth money. Lino, again, happy for him to stay on depth money but obviously wouldn't begrudge him moving on for an opportunity. Moga gone. Jake hopefully getting the kick up the arse that he needs. Connor keepers for sure. The rest I'll leave to the coach. We should be in a great position cap wise to go after a five eighth or gun backrower for 2021.

Watson and J Saifiti should be re-signed asap... Got a feeling both of their prices will being going up as this year goes on.

We should be trying to keep big Herman... He's a gun.

I like Lino, and think he's a really good back up half...

The young guys on development contracts should be kept. They're all going to be good players.

I don't get the TRD signing to be honest (hope I'm wrong about him),

Jones has looked ok in the trials and nines, and will get a shot this year. So will have to wait and see if he grabs that chance with 2 hands.

The others, I'm not that fussed if they stay or go to be honest...

We can't keep them all, and need to be better in recruitment/retention than we have been in the past.

For what it's worth, I agree re Watson and JSaf.

All the boys seem to settle around Charlestown or Redhead way these days.
The Lake Macquarie Knights?
I think it's a good thing - a bit away from town and in a nice spot, and not far from Hunter sports high if they settle there and want their kids to go to a sports school.

Herman looking for a big year and to stay at Knights beyond 2020, despite Titans' interest in 3-year deal.

I'm sure the Mole will find a way to claim this was his mail from the beginning considering he's been saying that Herman is being shopped around since last July because of the cap, even up until now. If it happened.
Even though Toohey then and now rubbished the rumour, and O'Brien now has and has stayed he's staying.
