2020 Pre Season and Trial Games

Our first knock out game is against the eels.
They have just scraped through with a small loss to the dogs and a small win over Saints, but they have a strong squad of mostly firstgraders including Gutherson, Moses, Ferguson, Sivo, takairangi etc - so even if we lose we will still have had a great tournament.

Unchanged side named for game against the EELS.

1. Kurt Gidley,
2. Jirah Momoisea,
4. Brodie Jones,
6. Aidan Guerra,
7. Starford To'a,
8. Jacob Saifiti,
9. Pasami Saulo,
11. Tyronne Roberts-Davis,
12. Mason Lino,
13. Sione Mata'utia,
15. Bayden Searle,
16. Tex Hoy,
17. Nathanael Sasagi,
18. Matt Soper-Lalwer.

Letting the young guys go out in a blaze of glory I suppose.

Great effort from the boys just four tries conceded for the whole tournament, very promising signs. I was surprised to find out matterson had played this tournament, his been unsighted apart from falling over the line for a try.

Very good tournamne for us when one considers all definite bstarters were not selected and only Guerra, Sione and Lino all bench players played withnold Kids and younmg kids. Some great prospects including Hoy, Jacob S, Lino and Sami inparticular.

We were always going to make the quarters after smahing the Worriers, but for mine Nathan Cleary outsmarted O'Brien by laying down against us and getting to play the Dragons rather than the Eels in the quarters..

Cleary would be hard pressed out smarting the corner post.

I suspect the coach decided that Hunt, Mann and Shibasaki had done enough in game 1, so kept them away from injury.
We really used our weakest side against Parra's strongest.

Strange way of deciding the finals draw. The winner of this Dragons vs Panthers will play the Eels, you would think after the pool games you would end up on other sides of the draw to your pool opponents.

O'Brien got nothing but headaches out of that.
He has clearly decided who has put their hands up for round 1 and left them all at home, or only gave them limited minutes, and 10 other guys have now put their hands up.
