basically he is on 500k a yr and wants 800k. Sharks are refusing to budge because he signed the contract they believed was right at the time.

Time to sign our own even if get 6-7 top players will need back up, Pythian, Pete, Elliot, even starling, feeney, Fitz, mataora, Pauli, all have first gr experience at worst all v/good reserve gr

We only have about half a roster signed for next year so far, but even so, we are going to cut at least 10 guys with firstgrade experience I think.

Sign quality players in needed positions and with current better players have depth and strength otherwise injuries mean young players up to 1st grade to soon

Call me crazy but does Elliott offer more of an upside than Ross? Bigger faster and just as gooder finisher. Ross's tries he scores that are razzle dazzle are standard fare for nrl players and his a shrimp to boot.

I won't call you crazy. I reckon Elliot's the most improved player we have. I'll go out on a limb and say Brown might tell Ross he's free to look elsewhere.

Elliot is definitely a much better player than he was last year, and he is young enough to have a few more years of improvement in him.
Tom Hughes looks a very similar player to me, but he seems stuck in reserve grade, despite being in the top half dozen try scorers in reserve grade year after year - he is up to 10 this year already.

It's funny Elliot was seen as a stop gap backup during the offseason because we had no one better to fill the spot but he seems to come along nicely to someone who is of first grade standard.
Guessing people see him as a winger/centre and backup fullback?

Just saw that he was 23 as well. Would probably rather that money go into locking him up now or whenever he is off contract and then letting Ross walk when his contract is up and hes 30.
