What was Ross on $180k is he really worth an upgrade? Same money yeah but not a dot more and 2 years only imo. Another player we can have cheap as no one will come knocking imo. As Billy stated guy with his standing in the community should be able get a few 3rd parties as a income filler.

They played together at the Roosters and were average.
In that Roosters team that was winning games and making grandfinals etc??? I recall Elliot coming on to the scene as a teenager and scoring some pretty good try's for them. He looked good in their set up and was getting talked up massively... I wouldn't say 'average' anyway :)

Even with that said, he's improved a hell of a lot since he arrived here and it's definitely worth having another look at him outside SKD. I can see that combination working well.

He didn't deserve the worst player in the game calls he was getting last year. He was just as solid in attack last year as he is this year. His most glaring issue was his grandma hit ups which have been rectified with another pre-season.

Elliot was in and out of first grade.
Obviously you didn't watch too many Roosters game and just go off highlights.

I watched most of their games. The Roosters are lucky enough, they can bleed their young guys slowly, so yes he was in and out, but, not because he was poo though. He scored 9 tries in 14 games for them... That's a pretty good strike rate, and way better than average.

Perhaps you should have watched more closely!!!

I watch ever minute of every game.
You're the one should be watching every game before making absurd comments.

That he was talked up massively and above average.
So much so Roosters was happy to let him go and no other club was interested in signing him except for us?

Robertson said he felt Elliot had plenty to offer a team in the nrl though at the time had 4 international backs in front of him.

Stop with the ship mate.

The sad fact is if Elliot was on the open market right now, there wouldn't be many club looking to sign him.
He will always be an average fringe first grader.
And I'm fan of his as well.

Sydney Roosters player Brendan Elliot has been granted an immediate release from his contract to take up an opportunity with another NRL club.

Sydney Roosters Recruitment Manager, Peter O'Sullivan, said: "Brendan has a lot to offer the NRL and the Club's decision to grant him an immediate release has been based on what we consider to be in the best interests of helping him secure a regular first grade position."

Sydney Roosters Head Coach, Trent Robinson, thanked Elliot for his contribution to the Club.

"Brendan has made a significant contribution to our team over the last two years and I've enjoyed coaching him," said Robinson.

"Brendan will always have many friends at the Roosters, and I know I speak on behalf of everyone at the Club in wishing him all the very best," he added.

22 year-old Elliot has played 14 NRL games with the Roosters since making his first grade debut with the Club in Round 17 of the 2014 season.

I don't think we need to be worried about another club stealing him, that's for sure.

He was horrific at centre last year, got moved out of there quick smart and looked semi competent on the wing. Definitely worth keeping around as depth.
